My wedding is Saturday. So I go to pick up my wedding dress today and it has a line going across it. I tried it on two days ago and it was perfect. The people at the dress place say they may be able to steam it out from the back. Well....i came back a little bit later and now my dress is ruined. There are steam marks going all the way up and down the dress. I am not exaggerating. My MOH was with me too and agreed it was not able to be salvaged.
The dress place ordered a panel of fabric from the designer to be overnighted and they are going to attempt to replace it tomorrow....but who knows if it is going to match or not. So I am two days before my wedding heartbroken and without a dress. I bought the dress over a year ago and went to a very high end dress shop. I have been planning this wedding for over two years and so far this week my hair was dyed blonde by accident, my florist quit, my diamond sidestone cracked, and I needed an emergency dental appointment.
I have no plan B for tomorrow....please cross your fingers for me.
I did not just write this to vent though.....as a lesson to all...pick your dress up EARLY even if they try to convince you otherwise. Lie about your wedding date if needed.

If I where you .....I would get another dress NOW & have the bridal salon that you went to refund you & then pay for your new dress.
I posted a while about Roosevelt field: they have Jessica McKlinton (or something like that), where they have wedding dresses NOW that you can walk away with...or David's bridal.
It WILL work out and you will be a beautiful, PERFECT bride

OMG - Ok, definitely got my fingers crossed for you. Listen if they can't replace it...try not to totally loose it - if you're worried about the photos - your photographer can totally fix the stains on your dress in post production of the images.

Try to calm down, promise things will be okay...this reminds me of Sex and the City, when Charlotte was marrying Harry, her second marriage. When she was attempting to get red wine out of her dress and was devistated, Miranda reminded her that her first wedding to Trey was perfect, but the marriage was not. I really hope all works out and I am sure your wedding will be beautiful no matter what!

Ladies,
Thank you so much for your support. I am not a frequent poster...more of a looker. The past week this board has been so helpful. I was notified through the boards the my florist quit! Also...you guys really calmed me to get through this dress thread.
The dress has been fixed. They put a new bottom on it and altered it to me. I tried it oin and it looked good. Tomorrow will be the real test but I think it will all be good.
We just got back from our rehearsal dinner and it was beyond perfect. I think my luck is on an upswing.
I'll post pics after the wedding.
