Why am I having so much trouble printing my invites??????????

I was having issues with FH's printer so I decided to use my parents computer. I put the envelopes in the tray and it's saying there is no paper. I use the other way to print and I've ruined 3 envelopes already because it leaves a black smudge at the edge when it comes out. Labels are NOT an option. How am I supposed to get this done? This is so frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!

what type of printer are you using? some printers are a PITA to use for envelopes. I had a printer that used to do the same thing, unless it was an 8.5x11 sheet of paper it would print, and would say there was no paper.

I have a new one that has a tray for smaller sized paper and envelopes.

wow....I wish i can help. Its hard to troubleshoot a problem if you're not really looking at it.

shut it everything down for an hour...maybe you or your computer are having a bad tech day

My parents is a Canon Pixma. I have no idea why it was saying there was no paper it was filled with envelopes! I decided to put a few in at a time and so far it's working. I'll just have to keep loading the cassette.

i was going to say to try just 1 envelope to see if it recognizes that. Sometimes if its too filled up the tray ive noticed it wont go. It will have a hard time pulling just that 1

I printed my own envelopes and I printed my shower invites as well.

I have a really good printer
Here is a pic of it. It has a manual feed that i felt worked the best, I dont think it would work if i put the envelopes in the tray

Now this is a printer!

first off, stop trying to print on your envelopes. cut a few pieces of paper the same size as the envelopes & do test runs on those.

are u using the envelope wizard, or printing through a regular document?

I did that...when I printed on the paper it didn't smudge.

The thickness of the envelope may be what is causing the smudge...the roller sometimes has trouble grabbing it. It happened to me with my envelopes, so I tried another printer and it worked. Go figure.

I am dreading printing mine. Have you looked into InkSpun? They charge 39 cents per outer envelope to print them on their computer for you.

I have tried setting the paper to print in landscape. it's printing, but it keeps printing the words in the wrong direction and it starts at the end of the envelope, not in the center where it's supposed to. this happens whether the paper is set to landscape or regular. (it first happened when it was set ot be regular, then it happened again when i set it to landscape.)

ANYONE have this printer and can help me????

Sometimes, just to PISS ME OFF EVEN MORE, it tries to pull the paper from the photo tray. and every time it doesn't work, i have to re-enter all the criteria into the envelope wizard, which really really *****, but i have a feeling that if I get it to work, it will be the same way. is there no way to save the settings????

No they are envelopes. The printer just doesn't want to cooperate. I've been trying to print them since last night. I'm almost done, thankfully but this stupid wrong paper size is annoying!

1) is there anyway to save all the settings in the 'envelopes and labels wizard'? Every time I press print, they are gone. I am talking about the font, font size and color, distance from top and from the left, etc. It's veryy annoying to have to re-enter it every time.

2) is there a way to center the address in the little box without eyeballing it? There is no justification button I can see.

I had similar issues. So changed the paper size to the envelope size and the type to postcard (if that is an option for you). It worked much better. I have an ink jet and it jammed a little bit less.

For my outer envelopes, alhtough laser and inkjet compatible, the ink jet didn't work. I had to use the laser printer at my job. Is there a printer you can use at work or at Kinkos?
