Thursday night Wedding time question/poll...what would you prefer as a guest??
I spoke to the Pastor of my church today & I thought that we were only able to have our ceremony somewhere around 3 or 4. So we originally scheduled the cocktail hour at 6 then reception 7-11...but he told me that we can have it anytime of day so I figured that maybe we should move everything earlier?...the ceremony at 2:30, cocktail at 5 then reception 6-10 because it is a weekday. I just wanted to get some feedback....
Would it make it easier for the going to work on Friday or will it make the coming on Thursday worse becasue of leaving early etc..I feel like maybe people migt be leaving early ot taking off anyway so it would help with it not being out so late.
I know its an inconvenience already but we did it for financial purposes which everyone we are inviting knows & understands...what would you prefer as a guest??..& if anyone has any other time ideas please comment!! haha Thanks so much!!!!

I think I would prefer the earlier times because it's a weekday but that's just me. I know there are ppl who work later and would have trouble getting there by 5....

I think 3:30 church time would be better with the cocktail hour starting at 6. I think more people will be able to make it by that time. If you started things earlier, I feel less people will be able to make it on time whether it be for church or for cocktail hour.
I am getting married on a Thursday, but we are having the ceremony at the RH so on the invites we put down 6pm. Then cocktail hour will start at 7.

Definatly later. I'd rather just take the entire day off the next day instead of having to leave work early that Thursday!

the later one.. i think it will be really tough for people to get home from work to make a 5pm CH, IMO.

The late one is a better idea IMO. I'm having a Thursday wedding too, and I have it set up for a 3:30 ceremony and 6 CH, etc. I think alot of people would rather have it later in the day so they can possibly get out of work and go to the church and see you get married, rather than have the ceremony too early, alot of people may not be able to get out early enough for a 2:30 ceremony, but they will be able to stay for the whole reception. I think going to the ceremony is more important than ensuring they stay for the whole reception.
Worst case scenario, those who have work really early on Friday, will leave at 10pm or whenever they need to.

i think the 330 church bc the CH starts later and more ppl could prob make it there at that time after they are out of work

To me, the difference b/t 10 & 11 isn't that big, so I would say go with the later start time so that people have more time to get ready after work.
