Sarah & James

Congrtulations and best wihes to Sarah and James and to their respective families: Julie and Jim; and Teri and Billy.
The two: A Teacher and a Risk Manager from Floral Park were engaged on May 8, 2010 at Centenial Gardens at the Gazebo.
'The week before James proposed, he set up a whole day for us for May 15th and dropped some hints that I kept assuming he would ask me then, so I told everyone 'I think it's going to happen next weekend!!' Little did I know, I was so wrong! The night before he proposed, we were picking up a firepit at Walmart for my mom's mother's day gift and as we were on line, I looked at James, and he pretends to start to get down on one knee...I freak out and all I can say is 'IN WALMART?' He started to crack up and James told me 'I'll be doing that 5 more times to throw you off!' Good job James...not! haha Anyway! James and I had plans to go to Pitch and Putt on May 8th after I attended a yard sale. Plans fell through after it started to rain, and James told me he had to work at the Gardens last minute. (He works there sometimes on the weekends anyway, so it totally threw me off!) I told him I would bring him lunch (which I always did) and he agreed and told me to come up whenever I was done making him a sandwhich. I actually took my time and made him mac and cheese, a huge sandwhich and brought water and a bag of pretzels we could enjoy together. When I arrived at the Gardens, he asked me where I would want to have lunch. I told him 'How about the Gazebo?' Now, here I am, unshowered, paint on my arms from the morning, no makeup, and three bags of food, including my bag and my phone in my hand. We walked towards the Gazebo and the minute I stepped onto the Gazebo, written on the floor in chalk was 'SARAH, WILL YOU MARRY ME?' I literally dropped ALL of my bags and screamed 'Oh my god...Oh My God...OH MY GOD!!!!!' I turned around and he was on one knee and he asked me those WONDERFUL words 'Will you marry me?' And I just kept repeating YES YES YES I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU YES!! I jumped on him and we both cried =) Moments later, we heard a voice coming from the bridge going 'YES!! PERFECT! CONGRATS!' and it ended up that his brother was the lookout in case anyone wanted to eat lunch in the Gazebo. Then his brother turned around and mooned me saying 'Welcome to the family!' After we cracked up and texted and called THE ENTIRE WORLD, our whole families came up and we had a nice champagne toast. It was the most amazing feeling I've ever had and I cannot wait to marry him!!
They look forward to a September 2, 2011 celebration at the Crest Hollow Country Club.
We wish them much continued love and happiness.
