A warm welcome and congratulations to Laura and Michael, and an extended congratulations to their respective families; Lois and Bob; Jackie and Jerry. Laura, a third grade teacher from Dix Hills, and Michael, a physical therapist from Farmingdale, were engaged on July 9, 2014 in Bermuda. 'It was a total surprise. Michael and I planned a trip to Bermuda. Our first night we took a walk on the beach waiting to be seated for dinner. We talked and skipped stones. On the walk back to the restaurant, Michael stopped at a table set up alone on the beach. He told me it was for us and that he wanted to make a toast. The waiter brought out champagne and strawberries with cream. The rest was a shock! Basically he asked me to marry him and I said 'Yes!'' The happy couple is looking forward to their May 15, 2015 wedding at St. Matthew's Church in Dix Hills.
