1 year anniversary

Is anyone planning on going on vacation for their one year anniversary? If so where do you plan on going?

DH and I plan on going somewhere for our one year. I am starting to do my research now even though we are just married 2 months

We are thinking about Aruba because the weather is always good but we arent sure.

Any recommendations??

we're going to mexico for our 1 year anniversary, although we'll be going a month before our actual anniversary since we hope to be moving into our house by the time our anniversary approaches.

We went to Newport, RI for our one year anniversary. We stayed at a b&b for two nights. I definitely recommend it because the town is so pretty and romantic. There are lots of great restaurants, mansions you can take a tour of, and the Cliff Walk in back of the mansions is breathtaking.

If you want info on the b&b we stayed at and any restaurants recommendations, just FM me.

We are going away probably to Riviera Maya 3 weeks after our anniversary (when he has vacation from work). I am a little scared bc I see Iguana's everywhere in RM and I am terrified of them. I am now researching other locations

for those who want to go to mexico, we're staying at the sun palace resort in cancun, right on the hotel zone. it's one of the only couples only resorts in the hotel zone. i know when i've gone to cancun in the past, i've never seen any iguanas. in RM, yes! even at our resort. i will definitely let everyone know how it was when i get back, but here are the reviews from trip advisor. i can't wait!!

sun palace

ETA: it was also less $$ than excellence riviera cancun.

We thought about going to Cancun but considering our 1 year is the end of October I'm not sure how the weather will be at that time. I think it is still hurrican season. You are usually guaranteed good weather in Aruba but I am definitely keeping my options open.

there were iguanas everywhere in aruba and they don't bother you AT ALL....not even a little bit - im used to them, my sister used to have one as a pet hahahaha but there were some really big ones that looked like dinosaurs! i can see why you are scared of them - we saw some really big ones! BUT they dont bother you at all, at least in aruba they didn't.....im terrified of snakes so if somewhere we went had a lot of snakes it would freak me out so i can see where you are coming from - but dont let it stop you from going i hear RM is really nice!

well punta cana is inexpensive. But yeah theres always cabo or aruba, or maybe PR. For something different maybe do montreal or vegas, or do like a trip to LA, san francisco. Or maybe do southbeach, weather is gorgeous at the end of october, we went to coconut grove, FL in november and the weather was perfect

We will probably do something like this. I loooove to go to little towns and explore. Never been to Newport either! I might plan something for September because 1) end of October might be chilly and I would prefer to have a warmish vacation since my HM was so COLD and 2) we will probably be moving to New Hampshire in Oct or Nov (or at least that is the hope) so Labor Day wknd or September is just better timing.

I would loooove to go to Savannah GA again - we got engaged there and had also gone two years before we got engaged - and have only been there in March .. so I would love to go when it's a little warmer. But with the house we hope to be buying around then, we will have no $ for a trip that involves a plane, etc -- so a weekend away is probably it for us.

Well we went to Vegas on the way home from Hawaii on our honeymoon so we dont want to do that again but you definitely have some good ideas. We both always wanted to go to San Diego so maybe I will look into that too. We also both love Disney so we thought of doing that but I dont know how warm it is in October and I dont want to be cold, I like warm vacations. Not sure how the weather is in FL and Mexico at the end of October.

Yea it is definitely hard with a house, we were so stressed planning a wedding and buying a house but now we know it was the best thing. We bought at just the right time before the market crashed and now we can enjoy being married instead of worrying about saving for a house. Dont get me wrong there are still things to be done in the house but we might just put them aside for now and plan our trip. Hopefully we get a good tax return this year too

The palace resorts look good. And I like that they are all inclusive. I'm looking into the dreams resorts in mexico as well as Atlantis inthe Bahamas. I'll be in school so the anniversary trip will have to wait until the following January when I'm off.

We are going away for our 1-year but a few weeks prior to it. The weekend of our wedding is always pretty busy and if we go away then, we will miss a lot.

We are planning to go to one of the Couples resorts in Jamaica - I cannot WAIT!!!

same here, i want to save.....DH really wants to go to the South Pacific, like Bora Bora, Moorea, but I'm not sure I can stay on a plane that long - I got a really bad swollen foot/ankle going to Aruba which I think was from flying.... i actually have to make a doctors appointment....but anyway the South Pacific is an expensive vacation - I'd like to check out somewhere more local and inexpensive - I was thinking maybe Louisianna/French Quarter b/c that seems like an interesting place to go....I heard Savannah is nice also...I heard Chicago is a fun city - but def don't want to go there in December
