This is a spinoff from Cateydee's question on the 10 board yesterday... about our accessories from the wedding...

Jewelry, dress, etc...

What did you do with your dress and accessories... if you kept anything, what was the reason?

My dress is hanging in my closet, and my mom keeps asking me to bring it to her and she will have it cleaned and whatnot... I am keeping my veil, my mom said i could use it if I have a daughter, for her communion... I am giving all my jewelry and a bunch of other stuff i didnt use for the wedding to Laura, Shauna & Michelle....

But last night I decided that im going to keep my starfish hair pin... Its the only thing that I got remotely attached to during the entire process....

Everything is just sitting in my closet. I don't need/want it, but I don't want to get rid of it either ... I am sure the next time we move it will be decision time for me.

my dirty asss gown is in hanging in a closet. i so need to get it cleaned

my cathedral veil i wanted to sell but dh and my bm were giving me shiit about it so i kept it. im glad i did. its so pretty to look at.

i was going to sell my doj and hair flower but i changed my mind. i dont have the heart to.

dress & veil - hanging in closet, keeping them

bracelet, head piece - sitting on shelf...will keep them, but will have to put them away at some point

picture frames - thank god you have them ang... or maybe laura now, who knows!!!

i think thats about all i really have besides a few extra CP's and favors which we will hang on to!

Right now, I still have it all. Dress is hanging on the back of the door to our guest room, headband is in the box it came in. Shauna (soontobecruz) is borrowing my veil, so she has that. No way am I getting rid of my jewelry - I can't wait to wear it again!

Knowing me, I'll save everything. I'm a sentimental fool like that, lol. Besides, my friend Michelle still has yet to get married, so she may want to borrow some of it in the future. She already said she wishes she was shorter so she could wear my dress

Keeping the picture frames - good for business. Already used them twice again

Sold the ring pillows, bathroom baskets, slipper baskets, program and bubble baskets.

i still have everything and i'm keeping everything i have a little sister so when she gets married maybe she'll want to use some of it!

My dress is still hanging in the closet in the spare bedroom, showering sand everywhere. There's like a little beach under where the dress is hanging.

I'm going to keep it, I could never give up my dress. I wanted to use the lace to make a christening gown but MIL tells me now that there is a christening gown that had been passed down for generations in her family. God the thing is ugly, maybe FSIL will get knocked up first and have to use it instead of me.

The jewelry was a gift from DH and ILs and they are real pearls and diamonds- I would NEVER in a million years sell them!

I really SHOULD sell my veil and my hair combs, but I love them so much, I couldn't bring myself to do it! I also really like Ang's idea of using it for a Communion veil! I think that's a wonderful use!!

ETA: I have a little sister, too, but she INSISTS she's going to elope. We'll seeeee!

my dress is still hanging in my bedroom closet in my parents house...

my jewerly i have, and i actually wear from time to time, at weddings etc.

I want to re-new our vows and have a ceremony on a tropical island for our 10yr anniversary. So I plan on wearing the dress and everything again

I don’t really get emotionally attached to things, I don’t know why. So, I’m only keeping my bracelet and earrings cause I can wear them again, but donating my dress, veil and tiara. I still don’t know what I’ll do with my shoes, maybe dye them so I can wear them again, even though they were super uncomfortable

My Dress: Just hanging in my closet, I hope to do a TTD shoot if I can ever get the extra money for it

My Slip: is being borrowed by Lori for her Sept wedding

My Veil: just sitting in a bag in my closet

My Jewelry: keeping it, my headband and bracelet can be worn again so I will keep them, my earrings were borrowed so I had to give those back

My Shoes: I want to sell, I only wore them for about 2 hours that day and will never wear them again

my dress is at my parents house.
my jewelry is here. i wore my bracelet to Kimberlys wedding but idk if ill ever be able to wear any of the other pieces.

My dress is still in the bag in my mother's basement. I really need to get the dress cleaned. The veil is there too.

My jewlery is sitting in my jewelery box.

My tiara, however, is another story. I wear it around the house as a joke to remind DH to treat me like a queen.

my dress was cleaned and preserved

my earrings were my grandmothers .. they were borrowed so i gave them back to my aunt

my bracelet was my sisters.. borrowed as well so i gave it back

my necklace was a necklace i wear all the time.. it's currently on my neck

& my veil and head piece are at my mothers house.

As most of you know, I had one American dress, one red Indian lehnga (those were for the wedding and reception at Swan Club) and one off-white sari (for the Indian reception).

The American gown is trashed. And I love that it is! It means I have a fcuking good time. There's a spot of blood (my friend cut his hand on a tambourine during 'Rockin' in the Free World' and bled on my dress a little), the bottom is dirty from tramping around in the grass, the back is stained from doing the Time Warp and falling to the ground at the end. The bustle is torn. It's probably beyond repair...I only wore it for the ceremony and second half of the reception and managed to trash the dress, LOL.

I think I might end up throwing it out. I dunno.

The Indian stuff is in great condition. I'm holding onto it all.

My American jewelry was all borrowed, so that was all returned. My Indian stuff is in a safety deposit box...I guess I'll save that for anyone in the fam that might need to borrow it?

My shoes were from my closet. I decided to spend my shoe budget on Pearl Jam tickets so I wore shoes I already owned.

My hair clip...I'll probably keep. It's small and doesn't take up much space. My veil was terrible, I nixed dat shyt the morning of the wedding. I hate it. I will use it to strain grapes when I wash them.

I have everything. I'm planning on getting my dress preserved. the veil my sister in law made i plan to put with it. I loved my tiara and think ill keep it.

My dress is hanging in the closet. I dont even know if I can sell it. Its missing one of the appliques that came on it. I have to get it cleaned and stuff.

My veil and headpiece I think I might sell. I have no use for them anymore.

my dress is hanging on a hanger in my closet along w/ my viel. my shoes are somewhere under the bed and my jewelry is all put away

My dress is cleaned and will be stored. Its not yet which is probably bad since its been over a year. Its hanging on my bed. My veil will probably be preserved with my dress.

My necklace and bracelet was a gift for my 21st so its not the first time I have worn it, though I only wore it for a few special occassions. Its in my parents safe and eventually I will take it. I will wear it again when I dress up. Its my birthstone (aquamarine) which is also supposed to be good luck for a wedding.

My shoes are FILTHY and just sitting on my old dresser. My purse, tiara and garter are sitting there too. I loved my purse and will wear it again. The rest, not sure, but I can't throw them out.

My dress is in my parents attic, I still need to have it cleaned and preserved. My veils are in a keepsake box I have with a bunch of other wedding stuff. My tiara is on display in my curio cabinet with out guesbook, toasting flutes, cake server and unity candle. My DOJ which was a swarvoski pendant and matching stud earrings are in my jewlery box. The earrings I've worn a few times since the wedding. I haven't worn the pendant yet cause it's pretty fancy looking but I will at some point.
