Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

The biggest issue was between DH and his brother, who was his Best Man. DH really didn't care about having a bachelor party but if he was going to have one, he didn't want anything big and crazy. DH and I had a bridesmaid & groomsmen that are a couple that live out of state. The guy has a hard time getting off work on the weekends and has to give a lot of notice in advance if he's taking off, especially near holidays, but he really wanted to come out to NY for this. We figured it would be easiest to pick a weekend like 2 months in advance that worked for everyone so they could come together. Easy, right? Everyone agreed to it in our bridal party.

Just a few weeks before, DH's bro decided that he wanted to change the date of the bach party to the week before. We said that wouldn't work because we had someone from a different state coming in. This led us to finding out that DH's bro wanted to go to Atlantic City, just the two of them, for the weekend. He never contacted anyone in the bridal party about the bach party and had no intentions to. DH refused to take part in this because he wanted to celebrate with everyone. It was also an issue because one groomsmen was only 18 so he wouldn't be able to go to Atlantic City but DH's bro wouldn't budge on the plans.

Needless to say, I left for my bachelorette party that night not knowing if DH would be going out that night, and DH didn't know if he would be going out that night either. I came home around 4am and DH was fast asleep in bed. He never had a bachelor party. Him and his brother didn't speak for quite a while. DH's point was that it's his bachelor party, it should be what he wants. DH's brother's point was that he should be happy with what he gets.

I was very happy when the wedding was over...

I had my sister, SIL and three best friends – luckily everything was drama-free. (or else they were really good at hiding it. )

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

I avoided BP drama by not having a BP. My DH is from Israel and in Israel you don't really have a BP unless you want to 'americanize' things. Instead they have the groom walked in by his parents. Bride walked in by her parents and brothers and sisters can walk in together. So that's what I did.

His parents walked him in, my parents walked me in. And my brother and his brother and sister walked in before me. I wanted them to stand with us and they did... but i didn't make them a BP. They wore whatever they wanted and it kept everything very simple.

I felt bad because my two BFF from when I was young were not included but I included them in other ways, like they stayed with me at the hotel the night before the wedding. They did host my shower. And they understood my decision.

So best thing I ever did. NO BP!

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

The only drama we had was that one groomsman was from Ohio and for some reason failed to mention to us until like 3 months before the wedding that he might not be able to get the time off to even come out for the wedding

He ended up bowing out and we chose another person that we love and he worked out much better anyway

Other than that...I only had a 7 person bp (3 BM, 3 GM, 1 FG) so no drama

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

Aside from our MOH & BM.
We had 3 Bridesmaids & 4 Groomsmen, 2 Flower Rings & 1 Ring Boy. Also my SIL was in the bridal party.

MOH, BM, the guys, the kids & my SIL where great sports. No complaints & they where super helpful. The 3 bridesmaids (my cousins) gave me a hard time about the dresses & then at the wedding they just sat at their table the entire night. That barely enjoyed themselves.

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

NO drama...i only had 3 girls (one being my MOH) so it was easy to coordinate and they had all gotten married within 2 years of me so they all knew how stressful it is and made my life super easy!

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

My MOH dropped out 4 months before the wedding and I don't speak to one of my bridesmaids. Eh whatever. Nothing too scandalous.

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

my only drama came from a BM, who wound up not a BM.

DH and I had been in her wedding Feb 09 (her husband is DH's best friend), and I essentially planned their wedding for them.

August of 09, she tells him she doesn't love him anymore, and wants a divorce.

at this point, she was still a BM. We order dresses, she wont respond to me, I send out emails, she says she is still in, but won't take my calls.

I found out from MoH and her soon to be ex husband that she was dropping out. when I saw her at my bridal shower, all she said to me was 'did you talk to MoH?'

She RSVPd yes for the wedding, and I again found out from GM (her soon to be ex) that she was not making the wedding. She never called to tell me or update me on that.

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

I had 2 MOH's, 7 BM's, 1 Junior BM, 6 FG's, 2 best men, 3 GM and more drama then I care to recall. Although I have to say it was really only from 1 person (my cousin who was a BM).

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

whats funny is i originally had 8 girls i wanted in my bridal party. Not an ounce of drama with any of them.

i didn't originally want FSIL but was guilted into it. She caused MAJOR drama. exactly why i didnt want her originally.

Re: *********** 8.9.10 ***********

There wasn't drama within the party, but I definitely had issues with a couple of the girls. Mainly taking forever to order the dress and just a general lack of interest. They get so excited when they hear they're in the BP and then when it comes time to do ANYTHING they don't care. Two didn't even show up for my shower and one of them completely ruined my bachelorette party.
