A FEW PIX FROM MY LONDON/PARIS TRIP

Original post by shamma

First let me say that I had an absolutely fabulous time, and I am looking forward to going to London again real soon. Paris is another story The people were so mean and everything was so costly and everything was name brand. Now I have to wonder, where do the regular folx shop My GF and I had breakfast and it was the most expensive breakfast I have ever had. $52, 2 slice of toast was $5 wow. The hotel was nice, the sights was nice, but after a day I was ready to return to London. We went every where. Their metro takes some getting used to. Opening the door yourself The smoking everywhere, wow.

Now London I love, love, love. The roads are small and they drive on the other side. The cars are small and so is everything else. We went to Buckingham Palace, Parliament, everywhere. If I had it to do over I would stay the entire 9 days in London.

I will post the pix in the next post.

Thanks to everyone that answered all my questions it made going there and being in both contries that much easier.

Next stop, Amsterdam, Greece and Italy.

Nice pictures, when I went to France, I loved it, but I had stayed with a French family, who I had hosted a foreign exchange student the year before and they invited me back. I loves Paris, and Versilles was my favorite, and the Eiffell Tower. Glad to hear you had a great ime!

Hi Shamma...I'm sorry you did not have that great a time in Paris...must be the current political situation...

I think the square is the Bastille...right? the statue marked where the Bastille stood and the Opera house is across the street?

and the first one...the pantheon? by the Sorbonne? they either bury people in there or the honor them? not sure...

But how grat was London!! but you looked a little cold??!! but it couldn't have been as bad as here right??!!

welcome home!!!

Erica, I knew you would have been able to help me remember. You are exactly right. They hung them in that square. You are the best. I look cold b/c I always am, it was great there, one day 63 another day 55, I am a Caribbean woman and anything below 80 is cold for me While I was there, I had your list that you wrote for me and I was like Erica will be proud of me, hitting all the spots. I even went to the Latin Quarter. They surely do have lots of museum, my, my, practically one on every corner. I loved London. Guess what, I did not go to Madame Tussands or the eye, but that will be on my agenda for my next trip, probably next summer. Thanks for everything.

Shamma - have you been to the Madame Toussard's here in NYC? It's probably not as good as the ones in Europe (didn't it start in France or England?) but we enjoyed it
