I watched it - they freak me out. I am all for doing whatever you want as long as you don't harm anyone or yourself in the process but that whole thing reminds me of a cult!

Re: A Very Dugger Wedding
yes, i watched it. i think my biggest problem were the wedding vows, where they had to say that the husband now has authority over the wife. and that the girls father was like god has ordained that now her husband will have authority over her, and that's a good thing. it's just a bit too crazy for me. and the one dugger daughter who said the only thing different about their wedding vows was to have as many kids as god wants them to have. yes, that was definitely different, but so was saying that the husband will have authority over the wife.

Ok, I couln't sleep last night and watched it at midnight...that was sooo strange. I mean..I get ppl are different and all that....but i was freaked about the part when his dad took him aside to explain about 'taking care of your wife'
O and I noticed the wedding actually took place in September...how much do you wanna bet that she's already pregnant!!

I missed it but want to see the repeat of it. OH wow so they finally had their first kiss lol. THats crazy that their first kiss has to be at the altar when they pronounce them husband and wife.

its about this family who has 18 kids, well they just had their 18th kid. THey are extremely religious, like i said their older kid who just got married couldnt even kiss his fiancee before the wedding and they always had to have a chaperone with them.

THIS is why their relationships work. I mean, they are getting married without even dating or getting to know each other for long. B/c if there is an issue in their relationship, she is stuck and the husband has the final word. She isnt allowed to have a backbone and stand up for herself. Thats just the way it is..take it or leave it. That and they dont believe in divorce.
At the same time, hopefully, men in that 'culture' have respect for their wives and dont treat them badly.

Re: A Very Dugger Wedding
Its on TLC.
I don't watch the show regularly, but I did see the episode when they got engaged... and I THINK that the first time they met in person was when he proposed - I think it was an online courtship. I could be wrong though.
