Adopting again?!?!?!?!

What are your thoughts on this?

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are to adopt another girl from Africa.

They've already adopted 3 kids and have one biological child.

How do you feel about them adopting another child?

Re: Adopting again?!?!?!?!

I love Angelina Jolie, they both seem like very good and responsible parents, unlike half of the hollywood wacko couples out there.

I think its wonderful that they are adopting another child, they are both privlaged and blessed individuals financially to be able to provide for a child from Africa where there is no food, no healthcare, or education, then thats a beautiful thing that they are willing to share it. These children are getting the oppurtunity to lead a happy and healthy life, thats all that should matter.

Re: Adopting again?!?!?!?!

The only thing that would s*ck is if they got to bypass a lot of the adoption processes because they are famous. There are so many non-famous people out there who want to adopt and have to wait through years of paperwork and frustration, and it wouldn't be fair if they got to skip that - I know there was similar commentary about Madonna's adoption but that was just kinda weird. If they have to do it the same way as everyone else, and they are willing to take care of a huge family like that, then more power to 'em!

Re: Adopting again?!?!?!?!

In once sense I agree with Milana, they are taking children and raising them in a great environment.

HOWEVER, there is a part of me that thinks, these 2 are actors, how much attention are they really paying to all these kids while they are shooting movies etc.
They are going to have so many kids that the others dont get the attention they deserve or need.

That is just my opinon

Yeah, I'm kinda on the fence about this one as well. I worry that the kids aren't getting the attention they need. I feel that they're moving a little too fast. Shiloh is only 20 months old - she needs a lot of time, care and attention and with the Angelina and Brad already being super busy - this will probably make it even harder for them to take care of their kids.

Re: Adopting again?!?!?!?!

Yea i totally see how this may become a problem and the children could just wind up being completely neglected, but hopefully Jolie prioritizes her children over work, and with Brad's help im sure they will be able to manage it.

I dont know if its just me, but she just seems like a really responsbile & caring woman, and kindve like trying to be a good role model by fundraising for charities, adopting children, and helping out in third world countries.

Forget Shiloh, Angelina had done an interview and she said that she doesnt feel an attraction to Shiloh b/c she was born into the life she has-that in and of itself was enough for me to think that she is a complete asss! how do you say that about your OWN child?

But they are giving these kids a better life and givin them something that they wouldnt have-so in that sense I think its wonderful.
Otherwise, kids need attention, love, support and nurturing.....and I dont see these children getting enough of that, no matter how many times we see Brad and Angie with them---you and I both know they have nanny watching them 95% of the time

Wow...thats a horrible thing to say....i didnt see that interview but if thats the case then she should not adopt other children if she doesnt have an 'attraction' to her own child....sigh...

I definitely think she is a responsible woman for sure. I think the things that she does are amazing since she is a celebrity and can use it for good.

And Im sure Ill get flamed for saying this, but there are children and families here in the US that cant help themselves and no one helps them. Except the govt and we see how well that works-> but thats completely off topic in and of itself. This is in no way towards what you said abouther helping, Im just saying that as an opinion

Let me see if I can find it-I remember being completely in shock! She felt that b/c Shiloh was born privileged the other children needed more then her
Just b/c she is born that way doesnt mean that she wont wind up screwed up b/c they pay no attention to her

Re: Adopting again?!?!?!?!

I applaud them for using their money for a good thing. They can give these kids a good life, and the kids deserve that opportunity. So many other celebrities waste their money on partying, shopping, cars, etc. They are using it to take kids out of a life of poverty and giving them a chance to be someone. I can't think of a better thing to do with $$$. And they seem to be able to give the kids the love they need as well, which is so much more important than anything else.

Re: Adopting again?!?!?!?!

They could adopt as many children as they want, but the fact of the matter is, most of the time a 'Nanny' is probably caring for them. You can call me whatever you want, but I happen to think that their trying to prove something. Take a look at all the children in the US for example, who lost parents to drugs, Aids, Katrina, etc....In and out of foster care, waiting for some place to finally call home. Are their children lucky? Of course. But money doesn't buy love! Just a spoiled brat who will eventually screw up because everything was handed to them. Including the silver spoon in their mouth.

Re: Adopting again?!?!?!?!

I applaud them as well, b/c yes regardless they ARE giving children a life that they couldnt survive, etc. BUT at the same time look at the children they adopted....All perfect little babies. What about the ones that are missing limbs due to disease? Or the sick ones that cant afford health care? Why not adopt those children and give them what they really can not afford?

Im not trying to argue the fact that they are doing the right thing, they are. They are doing more then most celebrities, but day after day there are children in this country (and others) that are dying b/c they cant get the help that they deserve and instead they go to other countries and adopt children that pretty much have no problems except that they are in foster care or adoption agencies. They are adopting babies, why not adopt the older ones? That NO ONE including them obviously wants.
We all know that most people who adopt want infants or toddlers...so why not adopt the children who have been in the system for YEARS!

I dont know, I think that they are celebrities and are doing right by someone...but they are also doing right by themselves b/c they make soooo much money every time they have photographers come to their house and take pictures of them.

I dont know, like I said Im torn

personally, i think they should be taking in children from the US, since theres so many out there that could use a stable home's but again, at least they are adopting.

Any child, in the US or anywhere else, that does not have a home, or a safe haven, or parents that aren't infected with crazy disease, or addicted to drugs, or whatever the case may be, I think being taken care of by a nanny, or living a 'screwed up' american life cause everything is handed to them, is still better then where there coming from, and at least now they have a chance to survive, and make something of themselves.

I know a few children that were raised by nanny's and sometimes those nanny's raise them to be really great people, and sometimes the kids are just great kids, and can see past all of that. In the end, all that matters is they get to have a home, and someone who loves them, let it be a nanny, or a mother or even just brothers and sisters... their getting a chance that they may have not gotten.

I too agree with you peg, they should go after the children that no one wants cause they got their arm blown off, or something like that, cause they do have alot of people watching what they do, and more people might also adopt those children if its whats 'in' as sad as that is

Very true, I definitely think that regardless of their reasoning these children are still given a chance. Its just sad that on the other side, there are children in their own state that live well below normal levels of life and are ignored. I think that regardless of that tho they are doing the right thing. And yes a nanny can do a great job, but I also feel that when a celebrity adopts a child from another country or even this country stand behind it and be the parent you want all of us to think you are. We all think they are 'parenting' these children and deep down we all know that they arent parenting the way they should be.

What also annoys me about the whole adoption issue, not anythin to do with Brad and Angelina is that, there are woman out there that can NOT have children and go thru leaps and bounds to adopt and can not b/c they work TOO much, dont make enough money and arent married, i dont think that means you cant be a good parent.

I think a small part of them adopting is for the celebrity and the story, not b/c they cant have children, I think they do it for the attention. Either way they are still doing right by children but its sad that the kids are used for that. When Angie brings home a child that is 13, has AIDS and is missing an arm then I will really give them the props they deserve, but until then I think they should chill out with the kids and instead of making it news just do it.

i feel this way too.....i feel if people have the finances & REAL emotional love to offer to each child, then that's great. And yea, besides when their filming movies they are home everyday...but what about when they DO film a movie & are gone for 6months on a shoot??? i dunno. guess we can't jugde them because they are doing good. but whats the point if those kiddies are not getting the emotional stability that they need??? hmm
