another baby shower question

the baby shower was originally on a sunday but i've been in contact with her boss at work (it's the baby's father's mother) and she said she wouldn't be able to take off due to the state visits. The shower is now on a friday at 630pm. What kind of food should I get? Just heroes and fruit/cheese and crackers or catered dinner?

To cut down on costs, you can do a big hero as the main dish, and make sides in bulk like a big tray of penne ala vodka, meatballs in sauce, tortellini with oil and garlic, a big salad, etc. All super easy to make and inexpensive.

Forgot to add (but can't thanks to the iPad), that this is what my mom did for my bridal shower, and there was so many leftovers that everyone wanted to take some home with them.

Thank you! Was just having issues because I know a majority of people work on Friday's and didn't know if they would go home, eat, ect...there was no room on the invitation to say if food was being served or not
