I've been SO BAD. I plan on finally entering my classroom today. I'm so nervous, I feel completley unprepared for the year. I've been in complete honeymoon lazy mode for the past week & a half since I got back.
This is my second year teaching music and I think I'm more nervous than last year!
And I know once I get there today nothing will get done cuz it will be catching up with faculty...
I guess the first thing I need to do is get off LIW, head to the gym and then to school!

I'm going in today as well to set up my classroom and I'm dreading it. It's my second year in my current school district and I feel more nervous than last year as well...like I forgot how to teach or something. I know I will be fine as soon as the first day is over with but it's that anticipation of new students. GOOD LUCK today!

I agree with you completely. I was motivated for like a two day stretch last week and since then I have done very little. This year I am in a new district since we just moved upstate and I am teaching one period of chemistry (which I know little about). So I have been trying to get brush up on the curriculum, but I just have no motivation. I can;t even set up my room because the teacher I share it with is in India until the 30th and I do not want to disrupt her things. Hopefully, the motivation bug will bite me next week. This weekend I am going home to LI to visit my family/friends so I am doubting anything will get done.

Oh THANK GOD it's not just me!!! I just told DH last night how I just was so not wanting to go back to school this year. It's my third year teaching at the school I'm at and I'm just blah about it. I just went back to my classroom yesterday too. Hopefully I will get more motivated!!

I did a touch of work this week, but other than that---nada. I always feel like things will fall into place so I don't stress too much about it.

ME ME ME!!! I have to have my room done by Tuesday because the kindeegartners come in a week early to see the room and take a bus ride!! I've been forced to get things done but I'm not as into it at all as last year!

Oh my goodness I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO unmotivated! I have been trying to get myself going all week, but I just can't do it!

I'm with you. I'm so unmotivated to go back especially after such an awesome summer. I feel lazy and I haven't done anything to prepare yet. I need another month off!!!!!!!!!

Well I jumped right in today and it wasn't so bad!! I was dreading it...but it was kinda nice getting the room ready. Made me sort of look forward to the school year. Anyone else take the plunge today?

I have been in all week! I am actually done and copied everything for the first week of school! I dont have to go back till the first day. Part of me wants to go back so that I can get into some ort of routine with DH!

I've been in the last 3 days. It's my second year in kindergarten in a new school. The K teacher that retired left all of her stuff. Before I move my stuff in I have to go through all her things. Some of the materials are great and some are older than me. I'm dreading going back, I hate being the new person.

I've been hussling all week! The class is 80% ready....going in tomorrow again! This is my 4th year teaching and I just moved form prek to 1st grade....I am excited but at the same time nervous!!! I go back to work officially on Monday! UGH! XOXOXO Kitty

Wonder if any of you work at my step daugher's school. She goes to Patchogue-Medford School District. Barton elementary but will be switching over to eagle.
