Since we didn't go on a real honeymoon, we want to goto Ireland in the spring or summer. (Well, he really wants to go & I'll go anywhere) Anyway, we don't know the first thing about planning a big trip. Do we go with a tour? I want to go to good places but i don't know if I want to be on a schedule. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

DH and I went on our HM to Ireland. We spent 16 wonderful days touring the country. We didn't want to be on a schedule, and older folks tend to take tours, not to mention you'd have to get up early....so we rented a car and did a complete circle around the country! We had a blast. FM if you need any help! I would definitely do it again the way we did it!! You'll have a blast!

I would recommend renting a car and spending 2 weeks there you can see a lot of places - some highlights you may want to do are:
RIng of Kerry Killarney Cliffs of Moher Burren Bunratty Castle Blarney Castle Galway City NEwgrange Wicklow mOuntains and powerhouse court Dublin City and there are a few great places in the North as well. FM if you have any questions I go there all the time my family is from there and so is dh.

Try to get to the west coast of Ireland. I heard its BEAUTIFUL.
people typically only get to the east coast (which is STILL beautiful) because it is closer to the main land..
but I heard the west coast is absolutely BREATH TAKING.
I cant offer any other advice b/c the only time i was in ireland was when I was backpacking around europe, so I stayed in hostels etc etc...
ALSO-- Ive been to Scotland and took a detour via bus to Inverness... (the lochness monster town) it was REALLY fun... Try to get there if you can.

Ireland is absolutely amazing! DH and I went about 3 years ago. We rented a card and traveled from the west coast to Dublin, staying in B&Bs along the way. You MUST do the ring of Kerry. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Words cannot describe it!
Check out the Aer Lingus website. We booked our air, car, and B&B vouchers directly with them.

Fh's parents did a tour last year and they had a really great time and it was very inexpensive. They saw so many things. I think if we ever go there we may do a tour.

I went a few months ago for my friend's wedding (pics in my album- Brady37's wedding).....we were in County Cavan and then stayed in Dublin for 2 nights, we had a great time!! if I would've been able to stay longer, I really wanted to visit the southern part of Ireland, I heard it's beautiful!!
