Anyone blog or read blogs?

I've been wanting to start a blog for the longest time but I just can't seem to get in the groove of it! There's this one blog in particular that I follow and it's this girl who writes about food, exercising, home and just stuff about her day to day life. It seems she has many followers, but I'm not even looking for that... I'm just looking to create something to document my own happenings in a different way.

If you blog, how did you get into it? If you follow blogs (exercise, food, newlywed, life), can you share some for inspiration?

Re: Anyone blog or read blogs?

Me and my sister alwaysss read dooce.com - The woman has had the site up for like 10 years and my sister is the one that got me into it probably at least 8 years ago. She's so funny - she just writes about her life and the crazy things that happen, and somehow you can relate. And she posts pictures. Def check it out!

Re: Anyone blog or read blogs?

i made a New Year's resolution to blog twice a week. This way, I don't feel like I have to keep up with a blog everyday, but I still make sure to write my thoughts every week. It's much less overwhelming. It also helps when you ask your friends to leave comments and they keep up on that part! Sometimes I just post videos and a couple of sentences, what I'm grateful for that week...other times, they are more in depth .

By the way, the blogs I pretty much read on a daily basis are:

For home decor: Young House Love (my absolute fav blog ever)
Random everyday goodness: Objectively Awesome
Baking and some really good soup recipes: Joy the Baker

Re: Anyone blog or read blogs?

For like five years I blogged Zuckerberg style on LiveJournal -- with high frequency.

I never got into an actual blog-blog though.

DH always tells me to write one but its like... I already post practically every thought I have via facebook. Does the world really need more of me? No. No they do not.

Re: Anyone blog or read blogs?

Those are great - Thank you for the suggestions!

I also like how you committed to blogging twice a week... takes a little bit of the pressure off. I don't even know what I want to write about necessarily, but once upon a time I was an English major and LOVED writing and I've fallen so far away from it that I feel like blogging is a casual way to whet my writing whistle again.
