Anyone have post nasal drip as an allergy symptom?
I get it every year and always forget what it is I've been waking up with a sore throat for about a week now and it's STILL scratchy now. Are there any over the counter allergy meds that help with this? I do not have insurance yet - my doc has prescribed rhinocort in the past but 1) I don't have $$ to shell out on a visit to her without ins or for the prescription and 2) I hate nasal sprays. Is there a pill that works for it?? Preferably OTC???? I take claritin for sneezing and itchy eyes but it doesn't seem to help the throat - only tea does and since I drink mine with sugar, I try not to have more than 2 cups a day!
TIA!

i had a BAD sinus infection last week and the post nasal drip was killing me.
when i used 24 hour Sudafed for allergies -- it actually helped a lot, especially for when i went to sleep.

I was going to suggest Claritin, since this year they actually seem to be working for my allergy symptoms including PND. But your post mentions that it does not work for you.
What about Riccola drops ? They make honey lemon ones that are soothing.

Did the sudafed make you jittery?? It always does for me which is why I stay away from it ... but it does seem to be one of the best OTC cold meds out there.

I am going to stop and shop today after work to get more claritin - I will look for some drops.

I have this so badly I have totally lost my voice...I went to the urgent care in WI, they put me on singulair, and said keep it up with the Zyrtec, veramist, and decongestants! Four drugs...it's crazy! I had to call in sick for tomorrow because I can not speak!

I have chronic post nasal drip and there has never been a sore throat associated from it. It's constant snot running down the back of my throat that I need to keep clearing by going *ahem* (which drives DH nuts btw). Cingulair is supposed to be good for it as well as Allegra or Clarinex. I've personally taken all of them and nothing for me, but I have a chronic condition.
