Anyone stiff you with gifts??!

yeah 3 people but out of 200 i guess that's good. they could have at least given cards. we thought to ourselves 'wow we would never go somewhere and not even give a card.' some people i guess just don't think that way. sorry you had so many

One couple who is friends of mine did not give us a gift yet, though I suppose something may turn up. It surprised me, and I gave them what I thought was a nice present for their wedding, but what can you do?

There are a couple relatives on both sides, mine and his, who did not come to the wedding. While I'm okay with no gift from them, they did not even send a card! Oh well.

Just got a gift! It was a bunch of small stuff off our registry though for one couple that my husband seems to think are SO generous. The total on everything was about $80!

Its just so funny cause we always fought over who's family would be more generous- turns out mine was!!!

we wrote a list of everything we got.. but never plugged it into our 'master guet list'.. so i have no clue yet if people didnt give us anything.

and we've been married over 6 months already

we got stiffed a bunch too. Or got tacky gifts from people and said 'your real gift is coming. yeah that ever happened either. Not too much can be done about it though, other wise it will look like you are fishing for gifts.

And don't get me wrong, there are some people that I did not expect a gift from, like my friends and family that travelled from England & Ireland...or the BM who came from TN & paid for eveything herself. But there were plenty of DH family that did not even give a card

I had one friend not give a gift, and then she called me to get my address so she could send it. Ummmm, that was in December and I still haven't gotten anything.
Then there were two brother's with dates, who had to cancel the night before because of family problems. Considering it was the night before and I had already paid for 4 of them, it would have been nice to send a little something, even just a card, but that never happened.
We did have a few lousy gift givers too. My mom's cousing gave me a picture he took in China in a cardboard frame as my gift. One of my cousin's told me a day before the wedding that he couldn't get off from work but his wife was coming. After I paid for 2 of them, they gave me $50. DH's freinds' little brother (he's 25 so he's not that little) also gave us $50 for him and his date.
And the worst one of all... one of my BM, and supposedly good friend, gave me $50- which still pisses me off to this day.

We had seating for 103 guests. About 91 showed up...so right there we got stiffed and had no shows. Then we only received about 30 cards/envelopes...about half the people DID NOT give a thing, not even a card with nice words in it. But I'm glad they enjoyed themselves and ate and danced.

OMG!! WE JUST GOT ONE!! We're waiting for them to mail it back but we have no idea whose it was, except it was $200....imagine seeing that fee subtracted when you've been gone 8 days!!

Yes we got stiffed... I think mostly by people in the BP. But I don't really care...it's to be expected. I don't even remember how many there were but I have to say that 30 is ALOT.

What really p!ssed me off was the no-shows who RSVP'd yes. I rather they would have shown up empty handed than just not show.

we had just one....but he was a groomsman!! with his girlfriend!! and his parents were there, and they gave a nice gift.....so who can ever know why this happens?? alot of DH's family were kind of in the cheap side..but the generous ones made up for it
