i dont know what to make... i saw this i was thinking of.. maybe with some bacon or scrambles eggs?
Eggnog French Toast
INGREDIENTS (Nutrition) 2 eggs, beaten slightly 1 1/2 cups eggnog 1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 12 slices French bread Add to Recipe Box My folders:
DIRECTIONS Whisk the eggs. eggnog, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice together in a mixing bowl until well blended. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish. Preheat an electric skillet to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease the skillet. Dip one slice of bread at a time into the eggnog mixture, being sure to coat each side of the bread thoroughly. Place the prepared bread slices into the preheated skillet, and cook, turning once, until golden brown on each side. Place cooked slices on a serving plate and cover with foil to keep warm until all French toast is cooked. Serve immediately.

I'm thinking about making chocolate chip pancakes. I wish I had a crepe machine...I'd love to make chocolate and banana crepes!
you dont need a crepe machine i actually dont even know what a crepe machine is lol, they are very easy to make. Its the same concept as a pancake but you just make it alot thinner. So you use a pan but a small one, the same you would with pancakes. Add seltzer to the batter though when making crepes. To flip them over its easy too, my mom taught me how to flip them in the air instead of using anything to do it. Its all in your wrist and you just pick up the pan off the stove and then with your wrist you push the pan out and then in a circular motion pull back and it will flip over very easily.
crepes are a very popular and common thing in european culture, the way pancakes is here, europeans make crepes just as much so growing up my mom always made them. Just takes a few mins and pretty easy to make. Just be careful when pouring it in the pan bc it has to stay thin so just a little in the middle and let it spread.
btw what is a crepe machine lol i never knew of this. Is it like all those gadets they sell like pans for pancakes. Well if so then same concept as pancakes, yes you can make it in one of those pans but you can also easily do it in a regular pan

Re: ARe you and DH making a special christmas..
probably not...we have to travel a loooot. nj for xmas eve to my moms...back to our place in li for our xmas (either that night or in the morning)...mil's house for xmas with her...then staten island...then back to nj to my dad's!
i actually can't wait to have kids so we can tell everyone we're staying put and they have to travel to us!
and same as what denise said...we're super european so i ate crepes endlessly. we dont use a crepe pan for them either. supppper quick and easy in a regular pan once u know how much batter u need....actually if u use a nonstick pan its a looot easier. give it a try! i use a regular ladle to measure/pour out the batter.
