Are you and DH on the same page?

Original post by MrsDtoBe09

as far as having kids go? I want a baby so badly! Not like an aww a kid would be such a cute accessory type of thing but a real I'm ready to start a family thing. I'd like to wait until the summer to start trying - DH is like, we'll see. What do you mean we'll see? It stinks because I obviously want him to be with me on this decision - it's not like I can do it alone! It's been making me really sad lately! Do you and your DH agree about when is the right time? Please tell me I'm not the only one in this position!

Well being 16 weeks preggo I hope we are. We both wanted to have a baby right after getting married. We planned to wait to start trying until this month after DH graduated from the police academy. I didn't want him to have anymore stress on him while he was going through it. He was he one who pushed me to start ttc sooner. We started trying in August, and found out we were pregnant in Oct.

We are both on the same page. Im going off the pill in a couple of months and we will see what happens. if we dont get pg then we will officially start trying in Nov.

Dh and I totally agree on the kid decision...we have always talked about it way before we got married. When we first started talking about it we didn't want kids but now that we got married the feeling is starting to change a bit...I am not 100% sure I want kids and neither does he but the idea is starting to set root.

Hang in there...I am sure as you guys talk he will come around. if you didnt plan on starting until the summer then you have some time to talk things through and get on the same page. Just dont push it on him...we have a friend who the wife wants kids desperately and the husband doesnt (they have always been in agreement that they both didnt want children ever) and it is ripping their marriage apart...that is all she talks about.

Totally we were so ready to be parents. We figured everything else was in place & we are settled financially & with homes. Unfortunately, we lost the baby at 9.5 weeks but didnt find out until our 12 week sonogram (which was last Monday) so its been a whirlwind of a week for us. But, we are doing so much better now. It was God's will & we will blessed with a healthy child soon enough. But to answer your Q - we are very ready. So good luck to u!

I am so sorry to hear about this!!! i completely believe that God brings us the child we should have when we should... sending prayers your way!

Basically, we're on the same page. If it were up to DH we would have started trying on the HM. I just went off the pill this month - so we'll see what happens.....

We're definitely on the same page-we want to be preggo by next fall/early winter-but if it happened sooner it would be a blessing.

The only thing we disagree on is when to go off BCP's. He thinks you can get pregnant immediately whereas I think it takes a while.

Oh well, at least the bigger picture is the same.

All I read about on LIF is girls waiting to regulate off of BCPs...I just went off them this month so I figure (fingers crossed) six months until we're TTC should hopefully be enough to get regular. We just started using condoms again and I REALLY can't see that lasting until the summer! Plus I'm sure I'll be a raging biatch when it comes to getting my period so hopefully that will make DH want me to get pregnant sooner!

Yea... apparently it seems to be a big issue!!!!
They never say that to you when you are going on them though... or at least they didn't to me when I was on them.

Also... has anyone seen the commercial for yaz, yasmin and something else? It's a lawyer commercial about cases going on and asking if anyone has had specific problems while taking these BC's?
Scary!!

One of the BC's I was on was Yasmin or Yaz (I thought they were the same... but IDK).

a friend was on yaz and she was hospitalized with a blood clot in her lungs. She was suffering with chest pains and the doctors kept sayig it was anxiety....

DO NOT TAKE YAz!!!!

I find that when people have problems or develop problems when they are on BC doctors tend to be very quick to dismiss it.

I'm just overall not a fan of BC pills as a whole. I didn't like being on them... I HATE them actually... they seem un-natural to me and just taking 'fake' hormones scares me. Sorry to those of you on it... I mean no offense... this is just my personal feelings about them. I've been on BC pills twice... 2 different kinds and I just feel sooo blah when I take them.

Ditto. I was so incredibly depressed when I was on them. I thought I was bipolar for the longest time because I would have highs and lows that ran like clockwork and then I realized it was the BCPs. I went off of them and within a month I felt 100 times better. It was amazing. For five years I was the most depressed person ever, and then it turned out I'm actually a pretty happy and outgoing person instead.

I talked to my doctor about it and she said that some people, especially if it runs in their family (which my family does have a history of anxiety, depression, etc.) have reactions to BC like this and chances are no matter which pill you take, it's going to have the same effect. So after the New Year DH and I are thinking about getting an IUD or IED or whatever they are instead.

Be careful with the IUD too... they can have the same effects. Do research before you decide to insert.

I took Yaz for the past 3 years and for the first 2 I was fine and then all of a sudden the last year I was a disaster. It made me feel so horrible, I got really bad anxiety, heart palpitations, chest pain, my jaw would go numb for days at a time etc. I went to the doctor thinking something was terribly wrong with me had a million tests done and they found nothing... in the end it was Yaz. I stopped taking it 2 months ago and I feel like a totally different person! I feel healthy and happy...

to answer the ? we were definitely on the same page. we ended up getting pregnant before the wedding (SHH) but we didn't know until after. but we wanted to have our kids sooner than later and we didn't know if we could conceive right away. obviously that wasn't the case!!

and about the 'inserts', my girlfriend has one and she hasn't had any problems with it. definitely do the research but i know there is one that doesn't have anything to do with hormones.

My friend has the IUD one. she doesn't have any complaints about it but i know that once the 5 years are up she doesn't want it again... she wants to just have her tubes tied instead. She did say the process of implanting them was A LOT more then she expected and she had A LOT of cramping for a while afterwards too.

Wow, really? That scares me...ugh. Can I just cast a spell on my uterus for no babies and then reverse it when we're ready?
