Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
I know I'm not the only one who had some disappointing BM. I was just wondering if you remained as close with them as you were before the wedding. I'm still friends with mine, but I make much less of an effort.ETS- I had my sis as MOH, my SIL, and 4 friends. One of my friends I'm still just as close to It's hard for us to get together often, but I know she's there. The other 3 I have been really close to for a long time. All 3 of them were a little shady at times through the planning process, but one much more so than the other two. I feel like I haven't spoken to any of them that much since the wedding, because the three of them are like a package deal. Don't get me wrong, we still speak. In fact we're exchanging our Secret Santa gifts this weekend over brunch (it's just the four of us), but I can't help that I still feel resentful.

Re: Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
I only had 2 BM and both of them went above and beyond for me. There were times I think they were more excited for my wedding day than I was! If anything, I am closer now with one of them than I was before the wedding. But I have heard that weddings can bring out the worst in people. It stinks that in your case it happened with someone in your briday party (if I'm reading into this correctly?). If someone truly disappointed me, I wouldn't waste my time trying to maintain a friendship.

Re: Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
I only had 2 girls. My SIL (married to my bro) and my SIL (married to DH's bro)I am still close to both of them
And in retrospect, I'm glad I didn't have a large bridal party, because those people I WAS considering, I hardly keep in touch with anymore (and its only 4 1/2 mos later
)

Me too--I had my SIL and my best friend. I am so glad I only had those 2 because I know in years I might have regretted losing touch with other members of the BP. My MOH lives in Chicago, and throughout the planning was not there for me much--didn't call, help with shopping for dresses, etc. We are the same size exactly so I actually bought her BM dress for her and got it fitted to the right size (she paid me for it). The day before and day of though she was wonderful--such a support to me in every way. I couldn't have done it without her. And during the ceremony outside it was windy and my veil was blowing all over--she held it down and put her hand on my back. I knew I had next to me the person from my past who I know I will stay in touch with forever, and even if I wished she had been able to be more involved, I know we will always be best friends. Had I added the other friends I considered adding, mostly so my numbers matched DH's, I know I would be disappointed now, because are relationships aren't so strong now that I am married.

Re: Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
I have always had an issue with this. I was just so excited to be engaged, I asked 7 people right away without thought. What a mistake.
DH had 7 people that he is very close with, including his bro and my bro. I just wanted it to be even. Like I said I regret it.
I had my 1 SIL, 4 friends and my only 2 girl cousins (who I HAD to have in.)
So I had 7 and I talk to 3 of them on a regular basis (my 2 best friends and SIL.)
I was never that close to my cousins to begin with I only see them at holidays and family things.
And I should have never asked 2 of my sorority sisters. I barely hear from them. They are too busy. I think we've each spoken 2X since my wedding.

Re: Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
I had 7 girls in my BP and I am close to everyone of them. Only one was my cousin the rest were friends from childhood, high school, and college. I'm so glad that they were a part of my day bc they are the best friends a girl could ask for.I live in Chicago and they live in all over the place (NY, MD, DC, TN). I don't see most of them very often, but we talk pretty frequently via email or phone.

Re: Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
I am close to all my BMs. Two are relatives, my sister was the MOH and my cousin a BM. The other 3 are friends of mine. One has been friends with me since we were in second grade together. The other two I met through my DH and are very good friends of his and now of mine.

Re: Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
with 3 of my bms i am fine with one we actually got closer since the wedding.one of them, however, turned into the wicked ***** of the northeast 3 days before the wedding cause i told her her skanky ex husband couldnt come and now she is being a wench.
if i never talk to her again it will be too soon - we went back and are editing her out of our album and video - it will be like she was never there.

Re: Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
My MOH was my sister, and the BMs were my two SILs and three friends. I am still as close to my friends as I was then. Two of them I talk to regularly - I go to school with one, so we see each other a few times a week. The third friend lives down in VA and we dont' talk much, but that's the way our friendship is. When she's in NY we get together and pick up where we left off. We've been friends since we were 6!

Re: Are you still as close with the girls in your bridal party?
Pretty interesting question! I am still close to everyone in my bridal party except one of my bridesmaids. This friend and I probably stopped being friends a long time ago and now that I look at things our friendship was probably forced for quite some time. All for the best!Welcome New Vendors
