my DH and I are trying to have a baby and I have been reading up on some things. Are any other couples doing things different now that they are trying to have a baby? I read about increasing my folic acid intake?? Not that im in a rush....but i don't want to do anything wrong.
Any suggestions on what to do? Other then the obvious...lol.

Re: Baby talk...who else is trying???
I would check out LIFamilies-they have a pregnancy board. Right now I'm trying not to get pregnant but I'm still curious.

Re: Baby talk...who else is trying???
Def check out the TTC board on LIF. My dr told me to start taking pre-natals when we started TTC. (They have lots of folic acid.) The TTC board will give u lots of good info.

We are TTC also. I
started taking Pre-natal vitamns, cut out cold cuts, shellfish, soft cheeses. Started exercising more and eating healthier.

We want to start this fall. I'm already trying to eat health, exercise, and cut out carbs since I have PCOS and carbs are my enemy. I would love tc without the help of fertility treatments, but we will see.

I believe you need a prescription from your ob/gyn for pre-natals, but regular womens multi-vitamins have some folic acid in, which is important during the first couple of months.

Are you on Metformin? That is supposed to assist with conceiving when you have PCOS.

you can take an OTC prenatal while TTC. i'm still taking the OTC prenatals until i go for my first dr visit. my dr had said the OTC ones were fine.

I was, but it made me very ill. Since I have insulin resistant pcos I am trying to control it with my eating. Hopefully this will work for us.

DH and I are TTC -- definitely come to the TTC board on LIF if you are gonna start trying--so much info there.
you can always just take a multi-vitamon and folic acid to start--or you can start OTC pre-natals from target.
i went to my doc and got a script for pre-natals that he gave me and i'm taking them currenly
