Re: Baking recipes?
OMG - Taryn shared this around the holidays and I just made it and it was DELIC!
You only need the mixer for the top part.
Gooey Chocolate Cake/Brownie Dessert! Pre-heat oven to 350
You'll Need: 1 Box chocolate cake mix (dry..do not prepare according to directions on box) 1 stick of melted butter 1 egg
Mix above ingredients & press into 9x13 greased bake-pan & set aside.
Topping: You'll Need:
2eggs 8oz. bar softened cream cheese 1whole box confectionary sugar
Blend above ingredients slowly with electric mixer..(be VERY careful not to get sugar everywhere! lol).
Pour over pressed cake mixture...
Bake for about 30minutes(or untill top begins to get golden brown)...let cool & crackle(top with fall in a little & crackle..this is supposed to happen )

Re: Baking recipes?
what do you want to make? i love to bake. allrecipes has some good ones; the pillsbury baking cookbook is the BEST, and all the Giant Goodhousekeeping Book of Cookies. OR, you can buy Nestle chips and make toll house choc chip cookies, recipe is on the back.

Re: Baking recipes?
here is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever, if you can't find instant espresso coffee powder just use instant coffee:
Ingredients
# 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened # 1 cup light brown sugar # 3 tablespoons granulated sugar # 1 large egg # 2 teaspoons vanilla extract # 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour # 1/2 teaspoon baking powder # 1/2 teaspoon baking soda # 1/2 teaspoon salt # 1-1/2 teaspoons instant espresso coffee powder # 1-1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream the butter with the sugars using an electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy (approximately 30 seconds)
2. Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract for another 30 seconds.
3. In a mixing bowl, sift together the dry ingredients and beat into the butter mixture at low speed for about 15 seconds. Stir in the espresso coffee powder and chocolate chips.
4. Using a 1 ounce scoop or a 2 tablespoon measure, drop cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Gently press down on the dough with the back of a spoon to spread out into a 2 inch circle. Bake for about 20 minutes or until nicely browned around the edges. Bake a little longer for a crispier cookie.

Re: Baking recipes?
lol - i am so glad all u girls liked the gooey choc. dessert! Jess - be forewarned - it may just turn u into a choc. addict if u're not already! i have a few really yummy dessert recipes - however they are so simple that most of them don't require a mixer! here is another one! This has been a family fave for YEARS...i am not a huge fan of fruit desserts - and i know this doesn't seem like much - but it is SOO delish! definetly satisfies a sweet tooth, that's for sure!
about 1stick of butter(or less) 1 box yellow cake mix 1 small can of sliced peaches in heavy syrup 1small can of sliced pears in natural juice 1 small can of pinapple chunks in natural juice
--------------------------------------------------- *Pre-heat oven to 350
Put all fruit w/juice in mixing bowl & cut up into pieces. Pour into 9x13 baking dish. Cover with dry cake mix(do not prepare according to directions). Cover top of cake mix with pats of butter.
Bake about 40 minutes or until top is golden.

Re: Baking recipes?
MONKEY BREAD
4 cans refrigerator biscuits (about 40) 1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon 1/2 cup butter 1 cup white sugar 1 cup brown sugar, packed 1/2 cup pecans, raisins and/or coconut, if desired
Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Pour sugar and cinnamon into a plastic bag and mix. Add biscuit pieces, several at a time; shake to coat well.
Place pieces in a buttered tube or Bundt pan until all are used.
Sprinkle layers with nts, raisings or coconut.
Bring brown sugar and butter to a boil in saucepan. Cool 10 minutes, then pou over tp of biscuits.
Bake at 350F for 45 minutes. Allow to cool 15 minutes before removing from pan. Turn upside down to serve.
I don't use any nuts and if you bake this before time, you should warm it up in the oven before you serve it.

no but you taste something different than a regular chocolate chip but no one yet has been able to tell what it is. I think it's almost like a caramel flavor

I agree - everyone loves this one. I also put confectioner's sugar on top (after it has cooled a bit) and cool whip when serving...yum...I might have to make it again this weekend...
