BANG BANG BANG

I called my Dr’s office at 9am this morning, per doctor’s orders, to let them know how I was feeling & to get some blood work results. I told the nurse that the pox spread to my hands and feet (it was only in my mouth on Friday) . I just got a call back, at 3:47 pm, she said “you are contagious and you cannot be at work. We’ll fax over a Dr’s note.”

Um, could you have called me a little SOONER?????

ugh, I feel so bad for you. Are you hating life right now?

You got the chicken pox? Does Ella have it too?

And what's up with them calling you over 6 hours laterrrrrr to tell you you're CONTAGIOUS??? F-ing nuts of them! I hope you get better soon!

its not the chicken pox, its Coxsackie (aka hand mouth & foot disease) Its like having the shingles but only in your mouth, throat, hands & feet

aw man, that sucksasssss. Is it itchie? I'm not too familiar with shingles, sorry. Does this mean you can't carry/hold Ella?

The most well known Coxsackie A disease is hand, foot and mouth disease (unrelated to foot and mouth disease), a common childhood illness which affect mostly children aged 10 or under[1], often produced by Coxsackie A16. In most cases infection is asymptomatic or causes only mild symptoms. In others, infection produces short-lived (7-10 days) fever and painful blisters in the mouth (a condition known as herpangina), on the palms and fingers of the hand, or on the soles of the feet. There can also be blisters in the throat, or on or above the tonsils. Adults can also be affected. The rash, which can appear several days after high temperature and painful sore throat, can be itchy and painful, especially on the hands/fingers and bottom of feet.

ugh my niece had this when she was 3. I literally cried when i saw how miserable she was and how painful the sores were to her.

TOTALLY

I was REALLY sick Wed, Thur, Fri. Fri I went to an ENT Dr & b/c I couldn't swallow & she said I had coxsackie in my throat. I had 103 fever & I was crying in pain. Then over the weekend they blistered spread to my hands & feet. BUT now I feel 100% fine. They itch, but I feel ok. So I thought it would be ok to come to the office. I was very wrong. Going home now.... had some loose ends to tie up

Oh no!!!!!! I'm so sorry you're going through this ... and I can't believe your doctor waited that long to call you & tell you that what you have is contagious
