belly ring ??

I have had my belly pierced for TEN years. The other day I lost my ball ( tee hee ) so I had to switch rings. I put in a new ring, and now it is all inflamed!! There is NO oozing (yuck) but it is pink, slightly swollen and it hurts when I touch it. I have been putting alcohol on it a few times a day.

I REALLY dont want to take it out. Do you think I should?? The thing is that I am leaving for camping tomorrow and it wont be the most sterile hygenic (sp?) environment . . .

get SEA SALT....put it in a cup of warm water....hold it over ur belly & let it soak(way better then just spraying the exterior) ..do it each night before bed...a couple times a day if u can...

ur infection will be gone quick! PROMISE

ps: U DIDN'T CLEAN UR NEW RING AT ALL?! CRAZY GIRL!!!!!

I was just about to post this.. ITA only I did it with HOT water as hot as I could stand it. Lying down until it got lukewarm repeated 2wice a day until infection went goodbye

GL and don't get rid of it prollay just some dirt or bacteria on the belly ring

I find that Bactine antiseptic spray works wonders

if you keep neosporin on it and move it around a bit here and there it should go down. I know that when I changed 1 gauge size up even though its healed it still stretches and gets irritated. It will go down just make sure you keep it lubricated and clean.

I am sorry here is where I disagree - Neosporin grabs more dirty and bacteria from the oils. Bactrin is good when it is first periced, sea salt is the best cure for new infections and ofcourse antibotics (last resort), and yes even seawater. Go to the beach hang out in the waters for hours as long as it is not Huntington.
