Big dress lower back pain?
Sorry to intrude on the married board but I had a question for you all.Did any of 'big dress' girls have lower back pain from your dress? I had mine on at the fitting yesterday for an hour and my back was killing me. Is this normal?

Re: Big dress lower back pain?
Mine wasn't huge, but pretty poofy. I didn't have any back problems, but thinking back to my fittings, yeah there was a little pain standing there in it, while they carefully pinned everything. On your wedding day, I think the excitement will overshadow the pain and you'll be moving around all day, instead of standing on a pedastal getting pinned. You'll be fine!!

Re: Big dress lower back pain?
I had a poofy dress, but I am not sure I would consider it a big dress. I put the dress on about 130 and I would say by 11:30 I was achy! It wasnt major pain but my back was achy from supporting all the weight the entire day.Trust me you are so excited and caught up in the moment you barely notice it!

Re: Big dress lower back pain?
I had a ballgown and it was pretty heavy and it didn't bother my back at all. I can see if maybe you were being fitted and had to suck it in and stand up tall for an hour, that might hurt your back! Sometimes you don't realize that you're a sloucher until you're forced to stand up straight and it hurts your back....

Thanks ladies. The fitting was pretty stressful -- the seamstress didn't understand what we wanted.

Re: Big dress lower back pain?
I did.. My dress was like 15 to 25 pounds.. I couldn't get a straight answer from my seamstress. My back was killing me that day-- and with all that standing and picture taking.. OY!
Anyway- at the end of the day, it wasn't anything that a couple of glasses of wine couldn't cure-- but I didn't start drinking until way after the first dance..

Mine was puffy and I had a lot of layers but it never felt uncomfortable.

I had a heavy ballgown, but I didn't have any back pain. It was probably because you were being fitted

Re: Big dress lower back pain?
My gown was VERY heavy!!! So heavy that I had bruises on my arms from holding it up
I did not have any pain in my back afterwards and I have rods in my back and I am very sensitive!!
