Book Club book choices!

Ok, I hope you like these. They're pretty varied! I gave a very short synopsis after each title, but if you want to look further they're all available on amazon.com.

The Virgin Blue – Tracy Chevalier

This book is about an American living in France, who is able to see things about her ancestors in the distant past through her dreams.

The Red Tent – Anita Diamante

A fictionalized version of the Biblical story of Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob, and his four wives.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn – Betty Smith

A girl, Francie, grows and matures during the depression and comes of age.

Their Eyes Were Watching God – Zora Neale Hurston

The novel follows the life and struggles of Janie, a black woman living in the south.

Good In Bed – Jennifer Weiner

Cannie struggles with her own weight and being accepted by society.

Certain Girls – Jennifer Weiner

(the sequel to Good in Bed) Cannie, the heroin from Good in Bed, deals w/the struggles of having a wayward adolescent daughter.

I've read all but the last one, and they're ALL awesome books that I love and think you will also.

they all sound great- i chose the first one- for some reason I am obsessed with european historical based books lately and it sounded similar to what I have been reading

I would really be fine reading any of these. I think I like the sound of The Virgin Blue the best though. I will cast my vote above

That book blew me away, its so good.

I only voted for Certain Girls b/c its the only one I havent read, but I will happily read any of these books again.

i'm torn between the Virgin Blue and Certain Girls. i love my historical fiction, but i also loved Good in Bed and want to know what happens.

i voted for certain girls, it's the only jennifer weiner book i haven't read yet.

I LOVE her, but I didn't like that murder mystery one. I couldn't get into it.

Maybe the most votes will be the first book, and the 2nd most will the the 2nd book, and then we'll do a whole new list.
