If you go out to eat and you have a food leftover, do you take the rest to go?
I had a friend who in school who I would go out to eat with and she would never take her leftovers to go- even when she had like 70% of it left over. I love leftovers so I always take mine unless its something that won't keep. I was just curious what others thoughts were on this. And Im bored...

I always take whatever I don't eat (and DH eats) home. How can you argue with a ready-made meal just waiting for you in the fridge the next day? Especially if it's a Butera's dinner

If there is anything leftover we usually bring it home, otherwise I always find myself craving it again and I get mad that I didn't take it.

i love leftovers! if its something that wont reheat well i'll eat it cold
the only times i wont take something to go are if we're not going straight home and we have no place to put it, or if i didn't really like my meal
for the most part, it keeps me from stuffing myself trying to finish it, and i love getting to eat it again later

If its pasta or chinese - I usually bring it home.
But not if its chicken or steak or a salad...it just doesnt taste good to me and salads get soggy!

ya I have brought home a salad like once or twice and it just isn't good most of the time. Thats usually the only thing I wont take. That and some seafood like clams and scallops I dont take.

I usually do depending on what it is. DH ends up eating it before I can even think about it sitting in the fridge

I do bring food home sometimes, but I was trying to think why I dont do it often and realized bc i usually eat most of my food. I feel like a pig after reading this thread most of you girls leave food on your plates, it doesnt happen often for me. Maybe just a few bites but then not worth it to take the rest if its just like 3 bites left.
Also like others said, depends on what it is. If its something oily then definitely not bc reheating it will just be disgusting.

I pretty much always do, unless DH eats the rest of my meal in the restaurant which is also a common occurrence. I eat really small portions so it just make sense to take the rest back with me since I'll be hungry within the next hour

same with me! i usually clean my plate, and enjoy cleaning my plate the only time i don't is if it's someplace like cheesecake factory where the portions are HUGE. then i know i'll be bringing home food and make sure to order something that will be good to eat the next day.

I guess I should have reworded the question. I meant if you have left over food- do you bring it home? Obviously if you eat it all you don't. But don't feel like a pig, I feel like I always eat more than DH even. Im a huge pig. But I feel like so many places have such huge protions that even I can't eat it all!
