I figured I would be attacked for saying what many others feel.
I'm sorry - and what 'poll' did you take recently that says what you feel is 'what many others feel'?
I have to disagree - looks like you're in the minority.
If you have nothing nice, supportive or constructive to say, pi$$ off.

Do you often see me post? Cause I'm confused here... Basically I never do. But this is why we have friends in our lives to vent to them. I FEEL that posting on a public forum is ridiculous about personal issues that we don't want to or can't address ourselves. Say what you wish on how I worded things, that's ok in my book. I see it that if you really were confused or disoriented about something, there would be different ways of dealing. As for being in her shoes... Well you all don't know one thing about me so you will never know if I ever was or wasn't...BECAUSE I don't post my issues on the web I deal with them through family, my faith and my friends. That's what gets me through.
I figured I would be attacked for saying what many others feel.
and the many others are free to speak up if they want to. did you feel the need to be the representative?
and, honestly, that is wonderful for you that you deal with it through family, faith and friends. but try to be understanding of the fact that everyone copes with things differently. and she was sharing it here with us as an outlet.
fine to have your opinion... you don't share personal stuff on here and thats fine. good for you. but your wording just sounded really rude and youre making accusations about someone you don't know. and NO youre not in her shoes, even if may have been through something similar. goes without saying that everyone is diffferent. what, did you want her to handle it the way YOU did/would??

I know exactly how I would feel, I would get out for the sake of my child. I guess you never had divorced parents. Take it from one that has, staying is never ok. Even if she is young, she knows the tension. I do not have children but I am wise beyond my years. I would never cry every day and not do anything about it. Don't think that no one knows who you are on here. WE all have someone who knows us through someone else. Trust me on that one. You need to get help for yourself and your daughter. You married the wrong man, so what I am sure someone else will come along and be better for you. But it's time that you take some action to get help for you. Crying and being sad over it is understandable. Who the heck wouldn't be, but you have to understand that coming on LIW to vent about it to strangers, you may come across one stranger that has just heard enough of the crying and not doing anything of it. I guess this is myself. Sorry. I am not trying to kick you when you are down, I am trying to show you an outsiders opinion without sugar coating it. This is how I am to all that is in my life and it's very much appreciated. I think you need to take a step back.
#1 - you're dead wrong. My parents were divorced. You are jumping to conclusions.
#2 - You don't know me. You don't know my husband. He's not from New York. He's been to Long Island once in his life. We live in another state.
#3 - I AM doing something about it. I went to a lawyer. I retained her. We are moving forward. I'm not quite sure why people are assuming I'm not doing anything about it just because I went to a freaking BBQ. Do you guys know this can take MONTHS?? MONTHS. What am I supposed to do? Lock myself in my house until then? Did you think I was just going to come on the boards today & be divorced? These things take time.
#4 - I'm happy for you that this is how you are, but this is how I AM.

Re: Can I get some drama please
Two thoughts...
1. I hope your SIL was as brash and hard on her brother as she was on that girl who showed up on the BBQ.
Because remember, it is equally the MANS responsibility for his actions as it was hers. In fact, if she had no idea he was a married man...I would even go as far as saying HE should take the brunt of the embarassment and shame, not her.
Now, thats NOT to say it wasnt the right think for her to leave. And I'd feel alot of anger towards her too, its only natural. I just dont want hubby getting away thinking the other girls gets embarrassed and he can sit back and enjoy the drama. F- that!, its not right!
2. Caroline, if he wont go to counseling...you still go yourself! Find someone in your area...it will be a blessing for you to have someone professional and completely uninvolved and objective help you thru this.

Negative. Apparently you don't understand what I am saying. What I am saying is posting on here about her issues with her DH is one thing, not doing something is another, then days go by people ask, no word...
I took it upon myself to say something because I have a major grip with sharing things on public forums. There are soooo many people in this world that strive off of gossip and it gets to places it shouldn't be. I also feel that a public forum is obsurd to feel safe in to vent.
People will handle situations how they like, but when it comes to complaining over and over and not doing anything about it, I treated her as if she was one of my friends. It's time to take some action. All the hugs in the world are not going to make the next few months easy for her, but in the long run it will be more than worth it.

Caroline - Please seek some professional help just for you if you have not already - it is something you need to make some good clear decisions. The venting you have done on here is best left for someone that can give you the tools to move fwd.
You are getting too many reactions all mixed- dont be shocked. - but this is not what your going to need to build strength.

When I was a kid, I remember when my father left. My mother cried and cried and my sister and I basically had to take care of ourselves and watch my mother break down. My father cheated on my mom multiple times yet she stayed with him KNOWING this until she finally got the strength to pack his bags and tell him to leave, which he did with no problem. I remember my mother crying for him even after this, even after the proof of his infidelity and I remember my mother calling him begging him to come back ever AFTER all of this. WHAT AN IDIOT RIGHT??! NO.
the reason IM sharing this is because I think its easy for a lot of us to wonder WHy she hasnt left yet but I dont think its thats easy ladies. As much of an ******* as he is being, and no matter how much proof she has of what a jerk he is, it wont make it any easier for her.
Your right L. No situations like that are ever clear cut. Ever. They are often deep rooted and multi-faceted. And obviously your mother loved your Dad, but your Dad had his own problems and didnt know how to treat your mom. Its like I always say...you can love someone but it doesnt necessarily mean that person is the right person to spend your life with.

Caroline you know I love you! But iwth that said I totally get this post. I understand venting....but this is a regular thing-he does something you come on and vent-like we all do. But to post a rant about this and how you are crying your eyes out, etc. then you are going to see a lawyer but now you are going to BBQs? Im confused-what do you want from him? It seems like he is doing everything he can to push you away and show you he doesnt care yet you stay and act like everything is honky dory. I understand you want to work it out but over the past year this is all we have heard of your relationship-nothing nice....at least if you did I dont remember it (sorry for that) but naturally we all jump to your defense and support you but then you make us wonder w t f happened that you are spending time with his family and friends after he made you out to look like an asss? Im sorry but yes in that situation regardless (go SIL) you do look like an asss-its like the boy who cried wolf and that is what is 'feels' like since its almost like that whole convo just disappeared. Im not trying to get on you-im really not so P LEASE dont take it that awy.
I understand that Ella is involved...no I dont have children and the worst thing parents can do is stay under one roof when they do not love each other. Ella can sense that, you dont even need to be fighting for her to know what is going on-and later in life she will despise both of you for it. My parents seperated and it was the best thing they ever did-I STILL over 20 years later remember them hating each other and staying together for the sake of children. That is just not a good enough excuse. She is going to think in the future when she is older that that kind of behavior from a man is ok the more you let her see it.
I have to agree withBeth, it does seem like this has become a joke-everyone aske dif you were ok for days and checked in with you....you were no where to be found-then you post a pic off of Perez and still dont update those around you who are truly wondering and worried about your well being?
but I AM doing something!!! I got a lawyer & I am getting a dicorce! Do you know how horrible that is for me to have to type. Yes _ iwen to a BBQ so my daughter could see her dad & play with other kids. I wasn't dancing with ny husband & sitting on his lap. Its an AWFUL situation.
Anyone who FM'ed me and asked if I was ok got an FM back. I just haven't advertised everything b/c quite honestly, this is a 'newlywed' board & I feel badly coming on here & posting such depressing sh!t all the time. Some girls are posting 'hi, I'm a newlywed!' and my post beneath is like 'hi - I'm a divorcee to be!' That's not fair to the happily married girls.
Someone out of all these brides had to get divorced. I'm taking one for the team. If my posting about it is upsetting or frustrating to people, I sincerely apologize. I have honestly tried to keep the sad posts to a minimum. I have tried to make light of my situation and make myself laugh and if that makes anyone think I am not taking this seriously, then I apologize for my misrepresentation. I am about as devastated as a persona can ever be. Trust me.

And i understand that-but if we are all wanting to support you and most of us have....then you come back randomly days later to post a picture-do you see how that can make us and wonder w t f is going on? I understand what youare saying-its just odd that you would post about what is going on and what you will be doing but then post a random pic of celebritites-that is all. I wont lie, I totally biffed myself when I say the post eysterday...and all I could think was 'w t f is going on with her' trust me I know it hurts, its tough, it wil ltake time etc. but its so non chalant that it does make me wonder w t f is going on with you.

peg kinda in response to you and also just generally...
she has nothing to prove to any of us. she doesnt need to get divorced (or do it quickly) to make all of us feel better. its not our decision. even if you were a child of separation or divorce, you have no idea how it will affect HER child so making those assumptions or trying to make her feel worse about it based on that really isn't fair.
if youre tired of hearing her vent, bc shes then not following through the way YOU think she should (ie- she should leave him right away, answer posts or FMs from concerned ppl on here, she should not post anything funny or random bc of whats going on, etc), ignore her posts.

Yes I am aware it takes month, but you need to get help for YOU. He is no longer in the equation anymore. Hide in your house def not, you need to prepare yourself for when he is longer around. Although you are not getting along now, he is still around. SO when he is completely gone your life will be different. Take some steps now. What about a mommy and me... Maybe you can meet some friends there...
#4 - I'm happy for you that this is how you are, but this is how I AM.
Right that's what makes the world go round, but we should all be able to take criticism if we post on a public forum on our personal lives.

IM sorry to tell you this, and Jess as a Psychology major you SHOULD know this-no matter what if steps arent taken to make the situation a happy and healthy one that child WILL be affected. A child can sense anger even if no words are spoken, the can sense fear too. Im not saying Ella will be some psycho pathic girl what Im saying is she will be affected and if you dont think she will I have to say its a bit on the naive side-all children are affected-you can come from a perfect home and be affected in some way, Im saying that Caroline is worried about her daughter bc she is involved but in order for the situation to be better SHE has to take steps to fix HERSELF and her happines and show that to Ella or she will take away from it anger, distress and apathy!!!!!
Im not saying she needs ot leave right away but out of random curiousity when do you think she should?
he is emotionally tramatizing and her so she should stay? Its the same as a woman who gets hit....when do you say enough is enough?
I know only she can make that choice-Im not telling her 'listen to me' im saying hear what I have to say and understnad what I am trying to say-not im right so you should take my advice-im just saying step back
