The news Riu Palaces Las Americs is really nice, but there are tons of great options--it depends on what you are exactly looking for--all incusive, no kids etc.

We stayed at El Caribe. All inclusive, and it's totally beautiful.

I think I stayed there. There are a few Melias so I forget but I am pretty sure that was the one.

i just got back from Dreams Resort & Spa this past Sunday. Everything about the place won me over. The rooms, restaurants, dolphins, beaches, pools - we had a great time!

I am at Excellence Riviera Cancun right now!! Just waiting to watch LOST before heading to dinner - and I agree, this place is GREAT!!! I would highly recommend it. I've also heard great things about Playa del Carmen... maybe next time!

I think that's where they stayed on Rock of Love!
I stayed at the Tucancun Beach Club and it was amazing.

sorry to crash
we are stayed at the Royal (in playa del carmen) which i think is 30 min from cancun but i believe there is one in Cancun. its all inclusive adults only. FMIL is a TA and said everyone has been raving about them.
Side note.. MANY mexican hotels were offering amazing deals if booked today.. FMIL was say that she quoted someone just over 700 for either 5 or 7 nights i dont remember. Its like some mexican extravaganza deal they do every year this time

Lucky girl!! Have you had cocktail lessons yet? Fun times!! The food was just amazing too....the place was a total paradise and so much fun. We'd totally go back if we had the money!

We actually have done very little except eat, sleep and get burned! The food is great, and we definitely plan on coming back. First I have to lose the 10 lbs I'm sure I've gained here from all the guacamole and pina coladas!

That's why that place is perfect- no need to do anything but sleep, eat and hang out by the sun! Oh and drink of course. Their mojitos are amazing!! Isn't the entertainment staff a hoot? DH played beach volleyball every day!
Damn now I really wish we were going back for our 1 yr...oh well. We're poor now!
ENJOY The rest of it! Are you in the business center with all the computers? It was such a pain to pay for that- unless things have changed and they have wireless! My DH would kill me if I brought my laptop when we go to Playa...they have wireless and I'm so tempted!
Congrats newlywed! you looked beautiful by the way!

DITTO! We stayed at Excellence Riviera for the vacation the year Pete proposed. AWESOME time. I have a ton of pics on shutterfly if you want to see. We loved it so much we went back to Excellence in Punta Cana and it was even more fabulous BUT the resort in Cancun was newer and nicer.
