Hmmmmmm good question. If the drug wars arent still going on it should be safe......but even if there are it still might be safe because I think that was only happening on the borders. Maybe ask a travel agent. they should know.
I think its safe in the hotel zone so you can go to bars and restaurants in the hotel area but I wouldnt venture into downtown cancun.....excursions are usually safe cause you are with a group and they dont want the liability of taking a group into a bad situation

I never ventured outside of the hotel, bar and restaurant strip. I did however stumble from bar to bar all hours of the night..![]()

. I found the strip to be completely safe but I wouldn't venture outside of the hotel zone. Except for excursions I'm sure the are safe!!!
What hotel are you guys staying at??
My cousin lives in El Paso and told me to stay away from non resort areas. I figure she knows because she is on a border town.

We're going to stay at the Royal Islander... tripadvisor had great reviews on it... I'm getting excited nowwoohooo!!
AS long as you stay with strip of hotels you will be fine, I went over ten years ago , my friends and I took a bus into the next town BIG mistake I was terriefed but we wher young and it was my first time away from home I was not thinking other then that it was fine - oh do not take a cabs to get around to the other hotels and bars, take the bus.
going there in april travel agent said it was okay. you just cant go the the border towns in northern mexico
