Re: Christmas Question

There are some really nice artificial trees that you could never tell were fake unless you started poking around in it.

We thought about getting that but we didnt want to spend the big bucks on the nicer ones and we dont want to store it.

Doesnt matter if the tree is real is fake to me..its all good :D

Re: Christmas Question

Growing up we had the same artificial tree from when my parents first got married....33 years ago.

My husband and I decided to do the same thing and so we bought one last year (our first christmas married) and plan to use it always...or at least until it collapses.

Re: Christmas Question

It is really neat Upstate here, they have a lot of Christmas tree farms and you go cut down your own tree...so you know it is real fresh. The needles, well that is only a vacuum away.
It is not that bad, and yes I love the smell too

Re: Christmas Question

HEY! MEAN!!! Artificial trees don't mean artificial Christmas!!!

Now...a plastic BLUE tree might mean that...but not just a regular fake one!!!

We had artificial all my life, because of having so many pets and little ones around. We had a great tradition of putting little notes from each of us about that Christmas in the box as we put it away, and every year, we'd open the notes from the year before while we put it up. My mom still has all those notes, and that artificial tree lives in my memory as being a huge part of Christmas.

To each his own. I get real now cause I love the smell. But a lot of the artificial now - you'd NEVER know. My sister has artiticial and they decorate right after Thanksgiving and LOVE It.

Re: Christmas Question

We use the fake tree b/c the cats really get so yucky from the real tree. Plus I like to put it up early (Thanksgiving weekend), and keep it up until 1st week in Jan

Re: Christmas Question

We have an artificial tree. The smell of a real tree gives me headaches, so we can't get a real tree. The fragrance is much too strong for me.

Last year we put it up Thanksgiving weekend, which is what our tradition will probably be every year. I love Christmas and decorating for it is always a lift!

Re: Christmas Question

The baby is due in late November so that means Scott will be in charge of getting our real tree this year. Typically we go together the second weekend in December. But the rest of the house begins to get decorate after Thanksgiving. This year, I plan on having him do all the outside stuff early and then I will try to do the inside stuff with him in between nursing etc..But I have to have a real tree..I just love them.

Re: Christmas Question

Real tree! Usually about two weeks before x-mas so it survives through the holidays and new years. And I actually like the needles that fall and you have to vaccuum up because then the vaccuum smells pine fresh for a while!

Re: Christmas Question

We have a fake tree because the cats can''t handle a real one. They like to climb it and they knock it down.

Re: Christmas Question

Fake tree all the way, I am too anal about how clean my house is to deal with all those darn needles. I leave the real ones for my mom. I decorated our tree last year in our wedding colors.

Re: Christmas Question

Our family tradition has always been to go upstate or to NH to cut down our tree. We are continuing with the tradition as well. Usually we go the Saturday after Thanksgiving and put it up when we get home. This year we have a wedding in Vermont Dec. 6 so we will cut down our tree that weekend. I''m bad and can''t help it but start decorating mid-November. I just love all of the decorations. We also have a 4ft artifical tree that we decorate and put in our bedroom. It was mine from when I lived with my parents. They wouldn''t let me have a real one in my room so I settled with an artificial one. Can you believe there are only 54 days left till Christmas???

Re: Christmas Question

I love going upstate to the tree farms!

We go with our friends from CT. We all hop in the Excursion and throw the dogs (3 labs) in the back. I''m so psyched for this year!!! I''m hoping for snow.
