Re: cks that you got at the wedding
A few in just my name, a few in just his name, most in Mr and Mrs. Mxxx
We went to the bank the day before we left for the honeymoon and deposited everything in our joint account, having to sit there and sign checks was a pain because the mr and mrs one's had to be double endorsed urgh!

Re: cks that you got at the wedding
To solve the check depositing problem we both singed the checks how ever they were addressed to us.
Oh and we got the following:
My first maiden name & his first last name Mr. and Mrs. His first name last name Mr. and Mrs. both first names and his last name His first name and My first and maiden name (so it looked like he was taking my last name) His BROTHERS first name and my first name his last name (that was hillarious) Some came only to him Some came only to me

Re: cks that you got at the wedding
Ours were all to Mr. & Mrs. His Firstname His Lastname.
We both just signed it and I deposited them in our joint account.
Actually, my mom told me that years ago when she worked as a teller in a bank, they used to tell them just to deposit checks like that and not give anyone a problem, since you can normally tell it is a newly married couple.

Yep! That's what happened to us too. I always thought I was being cute when I gave the newly married couple a check with Mr. & Mrs on it.
Since I've gotten married, I only make the check out to one person only - I want to make their life easier!

Re: cks that you got at the wedding
I think it depends on the bank. Most of our checks were made out to Mr and Mrs S. Since my name was still legally Miss D, he signed them all. Only 1 signature required for us.

Re: cks that you got at the wedding
The majority of them came to Mr and Mrs his last name. We split the pile in half and signed our names, so every check was signed by only 1 of us. We use first national bank of long island and since they are a local bank, they know who I am, knew we were getting married and still go out of their way to help me, even though I live in North Carolina now. They are by far better than Wachovia which holds our local account. 'Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name....'

Re: cks that you got at the wedding
I have another question....
My bank told us they need the marriage license first, but I'm hyphenating my name and I'm almost positive that nobody will make the checks out this way!
So my question, will the bank let us deposit checks written 'Mr. & Mrs. His 1st and Last Name' if the marriage license itself says His First and Last Name and My First Name Maiden-New Name?
This banking is really annoying!!!

Re: cks that you got at the wedding
99% Mr. and Mrs. His Last Name. We both signed the back and had no issues.

Most said Mr. and Mrs. first hislast some said hisfirst and myfirst hislast some to just him some to just me
i took them all to the bank myself after we'd both signed them. since they were deposits, they didn't really care...and one name was technically on the account...the other half on...my maiden name......but like i said, they didn't care. it's like when your kids get checks, you go cash them at your bank and you sign them even though little suzy isn't on the account...but she has to sign it, too...if she's old enough. i remember when i was little and people would send me a check..i'd write my name on the back and my mom would sign it and they'd cash it. i always wrote out wedding checks to mr. and mrs. and never really thought about the implications until i was faced with it...but since it works out so well, i feel less bad than i did a couple of months ago when the first one came.
