Re: Closing on a house...are we supposed to tip ppl?

I brought pumpkin muffins to our closing and the lawyer and realtors thought that was a bit much!!! lol

I mostly just brought them for me so I wouldn't be the fat preggo eating alone there.

But no, you don't have to tip them. They're already making a TON of money off your transaction. If you want to, go ahead, but you definitely don't have to.

Re: Closing on a house...are we supposed to tip ppl?

Maybe this is why things are so vastly different down in NC There's no 'title guy' involved.

And only one lawyer.

But still... tipping at a closing sounds nuts to me. Do what you want. They're not going to come after you and burn your new house down if you don't.

Re: Closing on a house...are we supposed to tip ppl?

We didnt tip anyone - DH had done so much work himself he even found the house- (dont know why we kept our agent other than MIL knew her). You write so many F'n checks in the process by the time you get the keys you are soo done with paying other people. JMO.. Everyone got paid even the little guys without us tipping.

Its different every where BUT NY lol Yes tipping is definitely optional. We choose to do so because many of these people did ALOT for us & happen to be friends. But you dont have to. Except the Title closer because thats all they get.
