confused

Ok, help me figure out if I am invited to this party: Sorry so long!!! TIA!

My parents received an invitation to DH's aunt's brother in law's (and his wife's) annual Christmas party next weekend. My parents have met the couple probably 2-3 times. They all get along very well, so I thought it was very nice for them to invite my parents.

However, DH & I cannot figure out if we are actually invited. They sent out the invitations on cards inside of their Christmas cards. We got a Christmas card, but no invitation.

Normally, I would just say ok, obviously we weren't invited. However, the fact that their in laws nephew's wife's parents (my parents) got an invitation, makes me think that maybe they just didn't slip one in our card by mistake.

I asked another couple who is around the same age as us (I figured maybe it was only an 'adult' party and they cut some generations) if they were invited, and they said, 'I don't think so. But I wouldn't go either way.'

So to me that means that they kinda just disregarded the card/have no clue/etc.

Thoughts??? RSVP date is this Saturday, as my Mom told me, and I don't want to be that awkward person who RSVPs when she wasn't invited...but I don't want to be a delinquent RSVPer if we were invited.

Re: confused

I think they would have included the invite in the Christmas card like they did for everyone else... technically you can't be a delinquent RSVPer if you didn't get an invitation!!! I think you're off the hook for this one.
