Cooking Prep Question

Original post by coldasice217

I have 4 frozen chicken breasts that I was planning on preparing tonight from our Omaha Steaks Xmas gift from my sister, and I forgot to put them in the fridge to thaw last night before bed, as I did with our steaks for yesterday, but I put them in the fridge around 7:50 this morning...by the time I get home and would start to prepare them would probably be around 6:00...do you think that approx. 10 hours in the fridge would have been enough time to thaw out, or should I scrap it and just go get something else for tonight?

I think they may be still a little Frozen. I did this with Chicken once and when I got home it was only 1/2 way thawed. So I would think of a back up plan!!!

I did that with chop meat a few weeks ago and when I got home it was still frozen solid. So I put it in the micro on defrost....but you have to be careful with that b/c sometimes it will cook my meats!

cook my meats

Don't laugh...you wrote the book on cooking meats!

For some reason... the word meats - with the S
makes me laugh. I crack up when I see a store sign that says... Fresh Meats for Intermations Meats... or Best Meats. Anything with Meats... I guess its the 12 year old in me lol
