Day After Photo Shoot

I have a couple of questions....

#1 how did you convince your DH to do it?
how much do packages range from? Who did you use? Did you use the same dress? How long after the wedding did you do them?

i am planning on doing mine in september or october, i havent told dh yet.


i will have to get a new dress or get my altered it is to big


our photographer gave us a really good deal bc he has only been shooting weddings for less then a year, so when i metioned this to him, he said we would be the 2nd couple he ever did for day after so we told us $250.00 for 3 hours, and no album, but i talked to jenn ( peteysbride) and she does albums, so we are going to have her do ours

My DH wont do it...so I am thinking of just doing it by myself! I love photography so I am up for doing it alone!

Also - I dont think it matters when you do them...I may be doing mine in a few weeks!

i know when i mentioned it to DH - he said where do you get these crazy ideas from - but this was like 2 months ago - so maybe he forgot im going to have to come up with some cool and creative way to present it to him. ;)

(depending on the cost ofcourse)

im dying to go into some fountain in central park or the beach and ruining my dress

mine wasn't too happy either to be honest. If we were not contacted but that photographer I am not sure he would have done it at all esp if we had to pay for it

That is a REALLY good deal for Day Afters. I will say though if he is starting out, give him guidance. Show him pictrues that you like because like with anything, when you're starting out you're much more hesitant than someone who has done it forever.

Usually they start around $400 and work their way up from there. Marianne of Blue Daisy was $400 when I had originally considered it (way alst year) but I dont know what that inluded other than the shoot.

LR is I believe $400 now and it includes prints and I BELIEVE a CD but don't quote me. I cn't find her email so just contact her at

www.lauraryanphotography.com. There is a link to email her.

Her albums are seperate. We did our own because it was less expensive than ordering it through the company she uses and its 'my thing.'

Who are you using Jen? Your wedding pics are amazing btw. LOL I am usually ALL for trashing the dresd! But..have to say I LOVE your dress....

he's still sorta ehh on it but he wants to do it bc he knows im excited for it. i also was like, well this could be our anni gift to eachother and something for us to have fun with.

we're not doing a package. we got a good price for our session and just high res files on a disc.

Our photog is Laura Novak- not in LI.

I bought a second dress. Wanted something lighter and flowy.

And it will be a few days over a year. lol

is LR in New York, i live in NJ about 30-40 minutes from atlantic city.

i do have a friend that lives about 20 minutes from NYC so i could always go there, but i am not to familar witht he area or where to even go

Laura Ryan is out in Amityville Long Island. She travels though. I love Marianne's pics and can't wait to see the brides that used her but Laura's my girl mein. She ROCKED our pics-proof is in DH URGING me to make prints and the flushmount even though it was more expensive and she calmed him down enough to take the pics-he even had fun at the end. She's a guy's girl which is good for thsoe with picky Dh's/
