I just went out to lunch with our boss (we both work for the same company) plus a bunch of other co-workers (all female). So my boss says, 'So, did anyone get anything sparkly for Valentine's Day?'. And I blurted out 'NO!' while practically slamming my fist on the table . And THEN I tell her that he didn't even get me flowers. So she's like, 'what is wrong with him?!'
I can guarantee that the next time she sees him she's going to give him such a hard time about this! I feel bad now But can you believe that DH has been trying to get me to share my chocolates with him? (The ONLY gift that he gave me for VD, other than making me dinner). I was like, 'You didn't even get me flowers and now you want to eat my chocolate? HELLLLL no' .
I'm such a meanie!

Re: DH is going to kill me
I was THIS close to saying something pretty mean to DH (but in a joking way ). During lunch we all got a $100 bonus check from our boss for a job well done. And this Saturday there's a jewelry expo that I'm going to. So I was going to tell DH that I'm going to use my money to buy myself something sparkly at the jewelry expo, but pretend it's from HIM

Re: DH is going to kill me
My DH did get me flowers but not chocolate. His excuse was that I baked him a chocolate meringue pie and that we had plenty of chocolate bw the two us. Okay, he had a point and on top of that, we are trying to lose weight. So I ate 1 small tiny ( a sliver ) slice and the next day, I wanted to have another slice for dessert. Well guess what? You got it.......he ate the whole freaking pie!!! I was so upset. Yes, I know I baked it for him but come on.....a whole pie.

That's totally something I would say!
No American chocolate for Valentine's day! Lindt , Godiva, or Guerlian only!
My husbnad got my gift on valentine's day--at lunch. Nut he wlays does that. I kow he does put thought into-toomuchthough,that he doesn't decide untill teh last minute.
I like my gift, but I still think the chocalte & flowers should be a given, PLUS a gift!
We had chocolate fondue though, and he drove all over in the rain looking for marshmallows & fondue fuel, so I am not upset at the lack of chocolates.

Chocolate truffles, chili pepper boxers (to wear to bed), a new pair of jeans, and a pen drive. Those aren't romantic gifts, but he'd rather have things he can get use out of.

Re: DH is going to kill me
Last night at work a very nice young couple were sitting at the bar. We were chatting about relationships and they asked what my new husband got me for V-Day. I said that he got me subway station flowers! No wife card! Not even a box of Russell Stover's! They asked what I got him. I told them I made a great dinner and got him a couple of 'For my Husband' cards. Cut to an hour later the guy says 'Hey Heidi. We just saw your husband and he asked us to give you this.' It was a heart shaped box of Russell Stover's chocolate with a napkin that said 'To: Heidi From: Mr. Heidi
To My Wife, Happy Valentine's Day!'
This couple did more for me then my DH!!!!! Boy, did I love telling him that story when I got home.
