Dh saw some guy walking around our house....

WOW! That is so scary! That is like my worst nightmare! I am such a baby and so paranoid about break-ins and robbers, etc. When I am home alone I have everything locked and shades pulled and lots of lights on. Dont know if that helps but I Am just a freak.

On a side note...if it makes you feel any better....some guy peeped in the windows of a house I was babysitting once. The 3 year old boy heard a noise and thought his mom was home and ran to the window in his room and sure enough there was a man peering in through the gap in the shades. I have never been so FREAKED in my life!

This is going to be a stupid question possibly...where are your utilities such as your poles that run wires to your house? Are they in your backyard or under the ground?

the meter is in the front by my office window...i asked DH if it was a utility guy but he said there was no car or truck & the guy walked around the side of the house to the back & he didn't see him by the time he went out...i've been home when the LIPA guys comes...it was also 7am

Let me point out one possibility, though; 7am is kind of a weird hour to be up to something diabolical. Not that it doesn't happen but its out of the ordinary.

Also I was just talking about this with a friend, my parents have a house up in the Catskills and the roads department needed to do some work that was going to affect their property, as well as a creek that runs through their backyard. So the Dept of Env. Protection would show up unannounced to do random inspections, yaddayadda, and they ALWAYS would like 'slink' up to the house, never ring the front doorbell or anything, and they'd park out on the main road. My mother had the cr*p scared out of her on more than one occasion, it was annoying as hell....
So I wonder if your snooper was someone who works for the DEP or some other agency?

yeah i keep wondering if DH missed something...i am checking to make sure someone's not living on the side of my house in the woods...haha
