My Dad has passed but DH called my mom from the bathroom about 2 hours before he did it. She thought it was very sweet.

Yes he did! He asked my mom when he requested to dance with her at my sisters sweet sixteen party and asked her during one of their slow dances. So i wouldnt see!

My dad had serious brain surgery last summer and was in a coma for 10 days. DH had intended to ask me during earlier, but waited until my dad woke up and was coherent enough to be asked. DH and I went to see my dad and DH sent me for some coffee and he asked then, I had no clue. Funny though...my dad was still a little confused and thought he might have imagined/dreamt it until DH actually asked and my dad was quite relieved!

My mom too. Luckily it was only three weeks between when he asked my parents and asked me. I think it was killing her not to be able to tell anyone! She was so proud of herself!

DH did not ask permission. He was all about the surprise and knew that my parents would never be able to keep it from me. They are horrible w/ secrets. DH did ask for their blessing afterwards.

He asked my mom and my grandparents. I'm not close with my dad so it wasn't important to me for him to ask him. Honestly tho, I would've said yes no matter whose blessings he had or didn't have!!

My dad is passed so he went to my mother. Not really to ask her permission, but just to let her know and get her blessing. My mom had been waiting for this moment for so long - DH said she practically jumped him when he showed her the ring!!!

DH went to my parents house and asked them while I was at work one night.. The funny thing was that I had called my parents while he was there and I never knew!! My parents were very happy that he asked their permission. It was very respectful!!
