If you registered for china, did you receive all of it?
I received 8 of my 12 place settings and all of my serving pieces and 1 soup bowl.
I'm still missing 4-place settings, 11 soup bowls and 12 accent plates - that's a lot of money for me to spend! I could live without the accent plates I guess ... but it's still $$$. Not sure if I should buy it or hope I get it for birthday's anniversary's, holiday's ...

yep, we got all our place settings, bowls, coffeepot, creamer sugar bowl, serving platters and one serving bowl. a couple of the bowls and the coffeepot we bought with gift certs we had received for the shower. We also bought all our crystal with gift cards. 'when i'm planning to use any of it is another story. right now its all packed up in my In laws basement

My godmother bought me all of my place settings, and other people bought some other pieces. I used gift cards to buy almost all of it. I didn't think we would get everything at once, so I had planned on collecting pieces over the years as I needed them...

We got 7 of the 12, but none of the serving pieces. Maybe one days soon.

We got all of our china. What we DIDN'T get:
- any of our glasses - 9 of our 12 sets of everyday flatware
So, I guess to answer your question, use gift cards, returns, etc and buy what you NEED when it goes on sale!! As far as china, most newlyweds I know do not use it for the first 5 years or so. Hint to family for anniversarys, birthdays, etc that you want it. Eventually you will have everything!

we received 7 out of 12 place settings and a few serving pieces...we're going to use giftcards and store credit (from returns) to purchase the rest.
I wish! All I got were the butter dish and the gravy boat!

I received 7 of the 8 settings on our registry. I plan on going to the Lenox outlet next week to get the 8th set and another piece or 2 just so we have some sort of a set. I really want the everyday stuff before getting the china, but I'm glad I got it, cause it's 5x's more expensive to buy then the everyday stuff I picked out!

We got all of the place settings and a couple of serving pieces. For our anniversary, though, each set of parents gave us a gift certificate to Fortunoff so we could buy more of the chine...and we got 2 more serving pieces. Now we can actually use it when company comes over

I got all my place settings but not most everything else (creamer, tea pot, serving pieces etc.). With the 15% off we finished it for a little over $1,000 right after our wedding. Also, Bloomingdales was willing to match the price of any other store that had it cheaper (fortunoffs) just fyi...

I got NONE!!! I actually went out and bought myown China so that I would only be registering for the completer pieces. Can you believe I didn't get a single piece at my shower?!

We only got 2 settings and it was from the same person..well my MOH and her mom. I actually returned them because I knew we would not get the remaining 10 or completer sets likly EVER....
So someday I will get china..till then its my everyday dishes...lol

we got all of our china before the wedding/shower.
We got the serving pieces to our crystal, along with 2 flutes. I bought a whole bunch of crystal after the wedding. For my Birthday, my MIL bought me 2 more flutes.
So, I have: 10 wine glasses, 10 goblets, 6 flutes, 4 balloon wine glasses, pitcher, and decanter from my crystal pattern. Who knows if I'll ever get the last 2 goblets, 2 wine glasses, and 6 flutes.

I did get all my crystal and pieces for my crystal (butter dish, salt & pepper, vases, pitchers, picture frames)
but the last remaining china I want and DH won't spring for it He keeps saying to ask for my birthday and holiday's. I told him it's not a 'me' present' it's an 'us/household' present. He wasn't taking the bait, he didn't want to register for it in the first place. GRRRRR. I want my 11 soup bowls and last 4 settings now and my 6-months is almost up for the 10% off! What to do, what to do...

thank heavens there are other gals like me! i got three settings and exhanged a bunch of stuff i didn't register for to get three more. so i have six...i figure i'll keep collecting a little here and there. we did have a nice birdcage though which helped us buy the house to put our china in!!!!
