Do any of you feel this way and do you think it will pass?

No- it's not post wedding blues. I really have no one to talk to about this. I def can't tell my mother or my SIL. I thought I would ask you girls.

I have gained 18 lbs since my wedding. I know that most of it is bc I feel trapped. Like I can't get out. Nothing has changed, nothing is different. I still do the same things I did before. We lived together for a year before we got married. FH is just as nice and just as much of a PITA as he was before. I just feel like i'm closed in- trapped- having no way out. Like i'm suffocating.

I know you must all think i'm crazy or something but has anyone felt like this? If so, what did you do to shake it?

Thanks girls

I think what you're feeling is perfectly natural. I cant explain why-- it just happens. DH and I lived together for a year before the wedding and we dated for 5 years. I was just as much 'trapped' then as I am now. But for some reason, the past week or two, I've been feeling the same way. Like sometimes I just need to get away. He asked me if I was going to the gym the other day and I flipped out saying 'its MY body...I'll decided when I'm going'
He's not controlling me at all, but for some reason I feel the need to express my independance. I think its the normal reaction when it finally sinks in that you're married. And yes, I do believe it will pass. Try to spend some quality time with him and also try to have some quality time for yourself -- go get your nails done, see your family, etc. get out of the house sometimes so you dont feel so smothered. I promise, it will pass

I used to feel that way. I just needed to pick up a hobby... That is when I found LIW and now I am back to my old self!

dh and i went out since we were 17 (12 yrs til wedding day ) We didnt live together but i totally know what u r feeling....i came from a house to move into a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry small apt....my parents are a in another town over while his parents are two blocks away.....dh works 24 hr shifts and im alone a nice chunk of the time....AND I GAINED 13 LBS AND CANT PUT DOWN THE BROWNIE DOWN and i cant seems to get myself motivated to excerise the weight off either....We always used to go away, go out on dates, go out with friends and those things have dwindled and I think its partially us trying to save for a house which has become my 'hobby' instead of LIW/wedding planning BUT it can be depressing bc we dont have a lot of money and this market $ucks especially in queens....i think it is a heathly marriage when u get comfortable and gain weight BUT i did gain it verrrrrrrrrry fast which i didnt like....i have to say finding the house hunting hobby has taken up some of my time, i like LIF now so thats my new addiction but other than that maybe u need to talk to ur dh about how ur feeling....i have a big mouth and should follow this advice =)...i havent told my dh but hey we could do it together like sitting on ur couch with our wedding dresses beer in hand watching friends im standing by WHAT WE ARE FEELING IS ABSOLUTELY NORMAL AND IT WILL PASS

My wedding was not even 2 weeks ago, but I noticed that I am feeling low My husband is very nice & I love him tremendously, I just constantly ask myself: what's next? I feel like time is flying by and I am trying to hold on to it to enjoy it. But I am sure it will pass, so everything will be OK

I understand....it feels different o be married. DH and I lived together for two years before the wedding, but it is a big committment to be married. It is scary and takes some getting used to, Just give it time and try to make your own life for yourself, whether that means girls' nights out, your career, or a new hobby. You will get through it!

I think you feel like something should have been different after you were married and it's not. And when you lived together before the wedding, it's not all that different.

Part of it is you're probably feeling the post-wedding letdown, and part of it is you probably need a project. We've been looking at houses, as we're hoping to buy in the next six months. Don't know if that's something you're going to do yet. You could get in shape, take a class, or take up a new hobby. You could always get pregnant, but if you're really depressed, I don't think that's a great idea.

Have you been seeing any of your friends? Don't feel as if you're an old married woman now, you still need to go out with the girls.
