Re: Does Cranberry Juice WORK?
I think so, but also just drinking lots of fluids too in general helps.ETA: Also depends on what is 'happening'.....could you be more specific if you don't mind sharing...is it a UTI type issue or YI type issue?

if you think you are getting one - go to CVS & buy Uristat pills in the ladies' aisle. 100% better than cranberry juice IMO

Re: Does Cranberry Juice WORK?
i used to get them a lot and my doctor once told me that drinking a lot of water is actually better for you than drinking cranberry juice. Keep drinking as much as you can and keep peeing as much as you can, it'll help to flush the infection out. but really the only way to cure it is to go on antibiotics.I'm sorry though
those hurt!

Re: Does Cranberry Juice WORK?
A good quote... from 'Healthatoz' website...Cranberry juice, an old-time folk remedy, has held up under scientific scrutiny in recent years. One of the cornerstone studies was a well-controlled trial performed on elderly women at Harvard Medical School that was published in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
The study found that women who drank cranberry juice were 58 percent less likely to develop a UTI than those who drank a 'placebo.' That is, another reddish drink that tasted like cranberry juice and contained vitamin C. If they already had an infection, they were 27 percent less likely to have their infections continue if they drank cranberry juice.
What cranberry juice had, it turns out, that the others didn't was an 'anti-adherence factor,' Kolata says. Studies found cranberries (and blueberries as well) contain a compound that makes it tough for the bacteria to adhere to the bladder wall. The bacteria that cause 90 percent of all UTIs are E.coli.

Re: Does Cranberry Juice WORK?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO cranberry Juice if you have the sting already.Cranberry juice is good for Everyday to prevent ONLY! I suffer since a child. The sugars feed off the live bacteria and grow.
water water water and plenty of it!
The over the counter pills will help try cysex or cyctex. I forget the spelling on that.
The purpose of the cranberry is that is has an ingredient that will coat the lining of the urethra and make it so that the bacteria cannot absorb or effect the area. I hope this all makes sense.
The cranberry pills will also help every day after you flush that baby out
Good luck
Edit for spelling

Yup, it's from not wiping properly![]()
I am sorry I just have to say something in re to this..NOT ALWAYS TRUE!
You can develop the Infection from all sorts of things.. and wiping improperly is NOT the only reason. It can come from baths,Jacuzzis/hot tubs, salt water , pools and sex, it can be b/c your body does not have enough good bacteria to fight off the bad, it can be from a poor immune system, it can be b/c your body is built slightly different than others with a tilt on the area and or a shorter distance of canal than others where it is easier for the bacteria to get into. It also can be from certain foods or medications. Strange but true. I have had this very unfortunate problem since a child and been to many different doctors for my problem. Thankfully , I now have it under control b/c I know how to treat it.![]()
