just wondering...dh says when you say it all the time it looses meaning; i get that. but damn how about once a month man!

I've never really counted, but on his own it's probably at least once a week. It doesn't count when I say it and he says it back, it means more when it out of the blue.

we say it all the time. It doesn't lose meaning to me. Before bed, getting off the phone, before leaving for work.. I wouldn't change it for anything!

We both say it constantly like when we hang up the phone or say good night...but the really love filled 'i love you' gets said by DH a few times a week, mostly when I do/say something cute.

definitely an all the time thing for us. every single day....thru txts or when on the phone. but i really love the times that he says it randomly....he'll go 'hey baby, you know what?' and i'll give the obligatory what and he says 'i love you'
i don't get tired of hearing it.

He says it before we hang up on the phone and before we go to bed. Oh, and before he leaves in the morning.
And he is NOT a mushy, romantic guy at all!! And come to think of it, he says it in a silly, dopey voice! God forbid the man shows any vulnerability!

we say it a lot throughout the day. He says it , I say it, we say it to each other.
I don't think it loses it's meaning at all. It is nice to hear and to say.

This choice wasn't available but I would say a few times a week. It is not overdone for me to puke but it is quite often.

the replies have made me think. i've spoken do dh about this many times, he agrees he needs to say it more often but doesnt seem to follow through and i end up saying it the most.
he comes from a totally unemotional family where calling each other twice a week shows love. frustrating

when getting off the phone its the usual 'love you' to each other, so that's kind of just a salutation at this point....when it really means something is when we're sitting at home and out of the blue he thinks I'm doing something cute (usually when I'm working on something or concentrating) he tells me 'you're so cute, I love you' and he is mr. machismo himself, that's why those are the moments that really get me!! I love it!! I'd say it's everyday that he says it, but its not to the point that I want to puke
