Ok ladies. So i know most of us are either looking or aspiring to become home-owners for either the first time, second or even third time ( ) My question is:
When you are ready to purchase is there a type of house you will be looking for? Like Ranch or Cape (Im not talking size, bedrooms etc) Im talking style of home.
For us We have always LOVED Americana Splits. But of course each of us own a two family & this new house is what is now my second fav a large High-Ranch. LOVING IT!

Re: Dream House Question
ALSO JUST A SIDE NOTE - Lets NOT post the homes we are not fans of as some people may have those type of homes & we wouldnt want to make anyone feel bad or upset because of something like that. Just post YOUR DREAM HOUSE! THANKS

Re: Dream House Question
I have no desire to get rid of my house any time soon. But my next house will be a Colonial or Georgian, not a ranch. I hate having ground floor windows in my bedroom, it creeps me out.

Re: Dream House Question
Never really thought about it much. We knew we didn't want a ranch b/c we hate sleeping on the first floor. We keep the window open in the bedroom all year even cracked in the winter. I don't even know what to call the house we just bought. It is really not one or the other. It is sort of a high ranch, and sort of a split. It has a strange lay out b/c of the extension the previous owner added to the back of the house & over the garage. It works for us. Lol. I would love to have a tudor.

Re: Dream House Question
We really want an old house like a Victorian or Dutch Colonial. Sigh. Buying a house is at least 10 years off for us. Need to get through school first!

Re: Dream House Question
We only looked at Colonials & Splanches.
I found alot of Colonials were overpriced just because they were colonials...We ended up buying a splanch.

Our ideal is a colonial, either traditional or 1920's style (like the 3 stories you find in Brightwaters with the third floor dormer window), or a Victorian...but they're really expensive, especially in the areas we're looking, so we'll probably be homeless forever lol. We found a great Victorian over the summer and were really considering putting in an offer, but it was 100 years old and the taxes were high and the rooms were small and there was no closet space and overall wasn't worth the money, no matter how cute it was
