Well, Shana, since you asked..... that means buckle up for a long story!!!

Actually, thank you for asking, unfortunately, it's not going very well. Last week we had signed a contract with our friend/landlord saying Saturday, 28 aug was our move in date. We were asked to get there fairly late in the day because there was still some stuff to be done in the morning. So we load up our rented van all morning and get to the apt around 2 or so. No carpets, not painted, wires hanging out of the walls, no rod for shower curtain, no light in the bathroom, water POURING out of a 'leaky' faucet, no doors on the rooms...I could go on and on. It seems that our landlord had gone away for a long weekend and so his builder took advantage...while the cat's away....

We had to move our stuff in anyway, but we haven't been able to stay there yet. I was there last night (now I have to pick up clothes all the time because all of my stuff is there) and two rooms were painted and carpet was down in one of the rooms. Still a way to go, but we're supposed to start sleeping there Thursday night with the understanding that there a few things that won't be completely finished, but that everything will be done by the end of the weekend. My parents are coming to visit next week!!!

Needless to say, we won't be paying much rent this month!! And now forever more my advice to people will always be DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FRIENDS!!

I'm sorry to hear darlin'!!! I've learned the don't work with those close to you thing!!
You must be excited that your parents are coming! Are the bringing any American treats for you???

I'm supposed to making my mom a list. So far, I need some Balance bars, and of course, my albums and video!!!!! I wanted my mom to buy me some bras - such a problem finding good ones and they're so expensive here!! - but not sure if she knows which I'm talking about. Unfortunately, most of what I crave is not transportable PIZZA, my grandmother's pasta sauce, etc, etc! Oh, well, I'm headed home for a weekend in October anyway.

And thanks about the name thing. I used to hate it when I was little! Now, it's different, but you don't know how many times I've said 'No, F like Frank' in my entire life!!! I think the same about your name!
