I like to lurk on the 'relationship' and the 'families w. no children' --> did you ever read that one? Some of those ladies really vent on people w. kids. LOL .
um, we don't vent on people with kids, we vent about how INSENSITIVE people can be with our childless status. Some of us are childless by choice, some not by choice, others are just not ready for children yet. I'm childless not by choice, so I don't need to be lectured on the joys of parenting and how my life would be so complete with children. Just stab me in the heart, the pain is the same.
i missed this before I responded, thanks for the post also.

I lurk on TTC and Pregnancy as well. I guess my baby fever is getting the best of me. It doesn't help that DH is just as bad with the fever.

I didn't mean it that way and I apologize if I came off the wrong way. I guess what I really meant was it's interesting to hear what other people have to say regarding their particular situation. Especially when there are so many boards w. TTC or Multiple births and parenting etc. All I hear at work all day is , 'my kids this, my kids that, or I have to leave early blablabl' - and the funny thing is that it has become PC to be understanding of their situation. So it was interesting to hear the other side say ' whatever, it's not fair.' I think it's even nicer that other women who might dissagree do not go on your board to type nasty dramatic things. I am sorry if I offended you guys or hurt your feelings. it was not my intention to do so.

LOL.. thanks for replying back! I am glad you weren't put off by that board or the comments. It is hard being childless in a 'family' world. Sometimes more than others we become the minority!

No not at all. Out of all my friends, I am the only one that is married w. no kids. My other friends either had babies before the wedding or are single. I like reading the blogs b.c it helps give me a different perspective. Even though DH and I do plan on 'one day' having kids, sometimes I do wonder, ' What if we decided not to, or what if we find out that we can't have children? ' As you mentioned, it is expected for married couples to have children. Everyone keeps asking me 'when', and I just tell them, 'NEVER, I dont want kids' ~ and they get this sheer look of horror in their face --> which I dont understand b.c ***, what's the big deal?
I think it's great that there is such a board not only for those who post on it, but for others (like me) who sometimes wonders if she should consider it as well. Thats all i wanted to say. Thank you for not chopping my head off. I totally didnt mean to come off that way at all. I especially feel bad b.c it didnt even occur to me that my comment might hurt someone who didnt have the choice of not having kids. I feel really bad. I am sorry.

Everyone I say that too also has that SAME look. It is hurtful. I don't make a face like that and say mean things if they ARE having babies!!

It's funny you say that, b.c every time one of my friends has said to me ' OMG I am pregnant! or did you hear _______ is pregnant!!! ' I answer, ' Oh, That's nice'
It's really weird, b.c unless I know a couple has been trying to have kids, I dont really get super happy for them. Most of my friends that have kids, when I found out they were pregnant I was too busy worrying about how the kid would affect their careers, school, relationship etc. I dont know, I just feel that children are such a HUGE responsibility , and sometimes I wonder if I want to take the risk. I am a HS dean, and many times I meet nice parents w. the most horrible kids...and it makes me wonder , hmmm, what if my kid turns out this way?

Don't feel this way. You will know if it is right for you to have children or not. And behavior wise, your children will turn out the way you raise them.
When people ask when we're having children, I usually reply that I've got three boys already - a 46 year old, a 73 year old and a 75 year old. (my DH, my Dad, my FIL) That usually stops them in their tracks.
