Ok so I think I nailed this eye look FINALLY but you girls didn't tell me I would have to channel my inner drag queen for this!!
I started out a little heavier than I would for a night out and the flash kept washing me out. Then i remembered my wedding day makeup artist telling me you need to cake it on thicker than normal for photoshoots because of the flash so I tried again. Third time was finally the charm. I looked like SUCH A ***** LMFAO in person. BUT on camera I think it finally looks great. I went with browns. Went to Sephora to the girl who recommended my nude lip color (LOVE her!) and she did my eyes for me. But she did say it was too light an application for film. SO I made it heeavier gradually. I wish you guys could have seen me in person!
This will definetly be the 'end look' for my shoot. I will start off with an almost nude eye with just cat eye liner and pinker lip.
What do you guys think? I felt whorey in person but Pete was around and he said he likes the 'trashy look: because I am his wife so its allowed for 'his eyes only.' Im thinking HAH if only you knew buddy these pics WILL be for your eyes only! Erm..and for the LIW ladies :wink:
ETA: I might have to change my foundation because it is still photographing light. Sephora girl told me to just apply heavier bronzer so I will try that first tomorrow and see how it works cause soooo hard to find non SPF foundations in general, much less in a shade flattering for my skin.
I'm so late on this....but I love it!!! Definitely need a diff. foundation.....I had no idea that sunscreen in foundations could do that! Maybe just a bronzer would work b/c your skin looks flawless.......do have to use foundation?

Devon I LOVE YOU!!! My skin is soooo far from flawless its obscene. I have darker skin obviously so any little blemish i get 'stains' my skin. I tend to break out on my cheeks and chin but I try to use my LOREAL Visibly even face wash every night and the deep penetrating cream and it helps the texture so the foundation goes on smoother and looks 'flawless' but far from it.
I also was wearing a smashbox stick concealer in thsoe pics to see how it worked-it is thicker than my foundation so i won't use it everyday to avoid breakouts but it really helps with the dark spots for photoshoots or a night out.
I am going to try the makeup again tonight with mroe nronzer and a pinker lip and see how it looks. I'll post pics ladies. Thanks for the help!
The girl at Sephora started it and I deepened it. It was a lot lighter and she said I needed to go much heavier but I didn't want to look like a hooker in the mall lol. I added the liner and the black to the corners to smoke it up more. Originally, what she did looked great in person but totally washed out on film. I am going to try redoing it again tonight. take two!
I was trying not to go too heavy on the blush ebcause I thought with smokey eyes, you're supposed to go minimal everywhere else right? Or am I wrong?
I agree- focus on one feature...unless you are doing b-pics In that case- I say- do it up!!! I would try fake eyelashes just for fun too! If you don't like em then don't use em for the shoot- but they could be fun! I wear them all the time when I go out- they just accent your eyes so well!

What I do is.... open the package and take out that cardboard thing that sticks out the top- (My fav lashes are Andrea MODLASHES #21.. the card board thing is yellow) Put some of the eye lash glue onto the card board thing (I wish I could come up with a better name for the 'card board thing'!) and then break a Qtip in half and use the side that doesn't have the fuzzy stuff to dip into the lash glue and spread a thin line along the line of the lashes. Wait about 10 seconds so it's A LITTLE sticky but you dont want it too sticky because then it goes on and stays there and if it isn't in the place you want it you cant mess with it. Then wait a min or so and you are dry and ready to go!! Some people put mascara over the fake lashes after they are on- I do nothing. I put my makeup on regular - mascara and all- and then apply the lashes as the last thing I do before I leave the house! Let me know if you have any more questions!!

hey jenn! i'm a HUGE fan of the individual lashes...they're also a little more user friendly & look a little more natural in photos.. i put them on the outer corners of my eyes to give a 'catty' effect. they're SO simple! get the short black flairs by Ardell(super cheap - u can find 'em in cvs)...(the ones that come with glue)..after u do all ur makeup, take a lash with a pair of tweezers, dip the end in glue & place where u want! i usually do them from the outer corners to about midway...
ps: for ur b-pics, if ur looking into full strip lashes u might wanna check out the lash bar at sephora. i was just there yesterday and they have SOOO many fun ones! like the crazy feather/rhinestone/colored ones u'd see in a mac catalogue!

Those look good! Im going to try., I did get a pair from Sephora-super thick and long for the Vintage pinup girl look but they refused to stay in place-ended up tossing them
