Ok so I think I nailed this eye look FINALLY but you girls didn't tell me I would have to channel my inner drag queen for this!!
I started out a little heavier than I would for a night out and the flash kept washing me out. Then i remembered my wedding day makeup artist telling me you need to cake it on thicker than normal for photoshoots because of the flash so I tried again. Third time was finally the charm. I looked like SUCH A ***** LMFAO in person. BUT on camera I think it finally looks great. I went with browns. Went to Sephora to the girl who recommended my nude lip color (LOVE her!) and she did my eyes for me. But she did say it was too light an application for film. SO I made it heeavier gradually. I wish you guys could have seen me in person!
This will definetly be the 'end look' for my shoot. I will start off with an almost nude eye with just cat eye liner and pinker lip.
What do you guys think? I felt whorey in person but Pete was around and he said he likes the 'trashy look: because I am his wife so its allowed for 'his eyes only.' Im thinking HAH if only you knew buddy these pics WILL be for your eyes only! Erm..and for the LIW ladies :wink:
ETA: I might have to change my foundation because it is still photographing light. Sephora girl told me to just apply heavier bronzer so I will try that first tomorrow and see how it works cause soooo hard to find non SPF foundations in general, much less in a shade flattering for my skin.
okay so i definetly like the eyes.....BUT yes..the foundation is photographing way to light on ur skin. u have a GORGOUS tone to ur skin(which u can see from the neck down)...do not hide it! u just need something with a warmer undertone in it...this color is putting almost a gray cast on ur face...and even while u can't see it as much in the last photo, u can still see a major difference in color from ur face to ur neck. the eyes are fun - and if u get a blush that pops, u can also get away with using a RED lip to get the ultimate 'trashy' look lol seriously! it'll look very betty paige pinup & will look HOT! i think u're gonna have a lot of fun for ur shoot jen! i can't wait to see the photos! and the cat-eye w/pink lip will be so fun!

Don't change your foundation! If you put some face powder (translucent is fine) on your neck & chest, you'll be fine. Your face is matte so its absorbing the flash more, hence making your face 'appear' lighter. Your skin on your chest has natural oil & is appearing darker. If you powder it, it'll look the same color as your face.
beautiful eye makeup!!!!! I like the foundation too but if you just want to give it more 'depth' I use the MAC Bronzer and it works AWESOME!!! Really just adds a nice tone but i think you look GORGEOUS!!!!
Thanks guys. Yea in person the foundation is fine. It melts right into my skin so it IS the 'right color' but I think the flash is picking up both the SPF in it and the matteness of it as you said, Caroline. Going to try more bronzer first. I know that was the same foundation someone used by my makeup artist on the wedding day btu I know she did use bronzer.
I guess whats difficult is juding how much to put on because I really caked my makeup on and my eyes STILL looks 'normal' on film-not overly done but dude..I looked like a prostitute lmao, It was HEAVY!
I have to try the lighter eye look with the red lip-they didnt have the gloss I wanted so have to try Sephora by me. That eye I will just do a lighter shadow then the cat eye liner with lots of black mascara. I'll do some with a pink lip then others with a red one since the rest of my face will be bare.
I did try the nuder eye and pink cheeps and bright lips like the pinup girls Taryn but it doesn't work well for me. I think I have too much color in my skin natural so looks off.

I do have the bare escentuals foundation. I just don't wear it much because I prefer the liquid kind but does that ahve an SPF in it? WIll that phtopgraph better do you think than an oil fee with SPF? I know I will need to add bronzer though.
I like it.. is there anyway you can get the Sephora chick to do it first on they day of? Then you can build it up again? It looks great, so that may be the trick- have her start it, you finish it. Either way, I like it.. I didn't think i'd like a brown smokey eye, I think I do though. Lovely

I thought of that but unfortunately nope. She works the weekends so I can't go that route but I had ehr write things down in detail and she did the litle makup char thing the do so I know what goes where. Now I know where to start so I am going to keep trying it this week until I get it right. All she really lighter brown across the lid and a little heavier on corners. It was more matte-I added the lighter tones and the black in the corners to make it pop more but I think I can replicate what she did...let us hope lol.
I didn't think I'd like brown either but the gray just doesnt work with my coloring. I look pasty. Have to work with what you've got and all that.

NARS Casino? Thats the one I use too! Hah I knew you rocked I have it on in the pics but not heavy enough. I tried it again today but didnt post the pics yet. I lathered it on and in person I felt WHOA hooker alert! But it photographed fine. I am sooo glad I didn't do my own makeup the day of cause this sh*t is stressful!
