I am so relieved--I wrote the last thank you note this morning! I suppose I'm a little late finishing them, but I think my family and friends will understand since my mother has had some health issues.
This was really bothering me--I don't know why I dislike writing them so much. DH didn't do them--his handwriting is appalling, and he's not that good at writing things like this. But we did trade off, nights when I was writing, he would do laundry or cook dinner.

I thought etiquette states that you have 2 months from your wedding date to send out thank yous? You're way ahead of schedule. Congrats!

A little late?!? I just got my out on Wednesday! I thought you had up to a year to get Thank You's out?!?!

I read one month from the honeymoon in a few places, so technically, I was a bit late (we did not include a photograph). One book said two weeks, but I don't think I've ever received a thank you that fast!

Yeah some older etiquette books do say 2 weeks which is a little insane. If you're not doing a picture TY I could see sending it out ASAP...but with a picture a few things go into it. Most people do it within 3 months, even that's too early for us since we just picked up our proofs.

LATE? Date twin- I just ordered the photo after a week of trying to crop one for the thank you.
DH is writing them- we had a deal during the wedding planning. But he is anxious to have them out so I am hoping to have them done and THEN have to wait for the pictures to come.

Congrats! This is a big task and you must be relieved to have it done with. I know I was.
Christine - that was so smart to cut a deal and have your DH do the TYs, especially since you did most of the wedding planning by yourself. Brilliant!

Aren't these etiquette books confusing? They all seem to say something else. Sometimes I think they were written with 1950s era housewives in mind also, and don't really take into account many brides (and their mothers) work these days.
