follow up to my cat/kitten- softpaws post

so i got the clear softpaws last night for Pandora (yea, we changed her name)
she put up a bit of a fight, more like she didn't know what the hell was going on, but i got them on her!
i had to bribe her with extra wet food.
her back paws were a pain! she didn't want them and kept clawing at me, luckily the front were already done.

DH and I then decided she needed a bath.... lets just say, something happened and she REALLY needed one.

now usually she jumps right into the shower with DH, well after last night, shes scared to even enter the bathroom.
I filled the tub about 2-3 inches with water, but used the shower head to get her wet and rinse her... I had to lather her OUTSIDE the tub because she wouldn't sit still.
long story short, while i was holding her and DH was rinsing her... she somehow managed to sink her teeth into my arm and TWIST her body... i have two nice little puncture marks on my wrist (yea, looks like vampire marks)
drying her was hard, she didn't like the blow dryer and didn't want us to touch her, so we ended up putting her by the fireplace and she groomed/dried herself.

by the end of the night, she was curled up in bed with me, feeling softer than ever and not able to scratch me.
this morning she was SOOOO cute!

so yea, any of you that were interested in the softpaws- DO IT! its totally worth it.

as for baths- take them to a groomer

Re: follow up to my cat/kitten- softpaws post

Avery doesn't really scratch that much but her nails get SO sharp. Maybe I'll buy them for just when she goes to other people's houses (SIL and MIL). They both have cats and when they wrestly Avery brings out her nails and scratches but the other cats don't have claws.

I have to say I'm not a HUGE cat person but I LOVE my Avery mama like she was my own little baby!!!! I mean how could you not, just look at her...

Re: follow up to my cat/kitten- softpaws post

Slash loves water! He jumps in the tub and shower and tries to drink out of any and all sinks!

We gave him one bath the first day we took him home from North Shore...he was such a little peanut then so he was kinda squirmy but we are convinced that he will enjoy an occasional bath come the warm weather!

Enjoy....or take my DH's eyes out...not sure but we feel compelled to give it a shot because he just loves loves loves water!
